WebsiteBackup Company Reviews (8)

We received an invoice from WebsiteBackup Company for a "Website Backup Service Plan" in the amount of $70.00. We do not do any business with this company, nor have we signed up for their services - yet we have an account number on the invoice. The big giveaway was they used a satellite office address for billing and we don't do business from that office.

We received a fake bill for services we did not order or authorize. Tried calling these people to which got sent to a general voicemail probably because the company is fake. The sad part is I am sure a lot of companies fall for this and pay it.

Received a bill for $70.00 from Websitebackup.com. We never contracted any service from them. Yet here is a bill. I called the number on the bill and left a message as the "wait time" was 24 minutes. Within 5 minutes someone called me back. They said oh that's not a bill. We are soliciting business. I know bills. This has an account number, billing date, amount due and asks that we make checks available to Websitebackup company. I asked where did they get my info and why are they sending out bogus bills. They had no answer, only to say they have an A+ rating from the Revdex.com. So I checked the Revdex.com and they are not rated at all. I don't appreciate this kinda tactic. There are people out there that would just send a check. This is wrong.

Our company was sent an invoice for $70.00 for alleged website backup service. We have never heard of this company nor contracted with them to do anything with us/our computer data. The invoice even has our "account number" on it and a detailed explanation of services allegedly provided.

Received an invoice in the mail for $70 for their service which we never signed up for and never had any contact with the company.

We received a bill from this company (WebsiteBackup). No where on the bill does it indicate it is a request for our business. We never contacted this company for its services and we have never done business with this company. On the second page, in the left-hand column under "Cancellation Policy" there is the only indication that they are looking for our business: "Sign up date is considered the date WebsiteBackup receives your payment."
We are a small company (3 employees) and as the bookkeeper, I know what products we purchase. An unsuspecting bookkeeper would receive this "bill" and assume it needs to be paid.
I attempted to contact the company by phone but was told by an automated voice system that there was a 25 minute wait time to speak to a customer service representative. This was after being disconnected twice.

They bill you for an annual service plan called Website backup Pro for $70.00
They put your website on the invoice and they have your exact address which makes you think it's a legitimate service. As small as we are, there isn't much division of duties and it is very easy to tell when an invoice shouldn't be paid. However many mid sized to big companies will end up losing money if they didn't question the charge.
I called the customer service number listed and initially they give you a wait time which eventually forwards you to a voice mail asking you to leave your mane and number so they can give you a call back. I have yet to receive a call back.

Received an invoice in the mail that looks totally legitimate with an account number and an annual charge for their annual service plan. It lists your domain name and shows Incremental Backup (monthly) as included in the fee. Also lists Host Web server, www forwarding as active. Max no of web pages 100 - Included. Data Storage of 2 GB - Included. Remit stub says to 'pay by check or money order only' and 'do not send cash or post-dated checks.'
Cancellation policy on back of invoice shows that they offer a 10-day money-back guarantee from your initial plan sign up date. Sign up date is considered the date they receive your payment. After the 10-day period, there are NO refunds!
They show email as the best way to reach them at [email protected] or [email protected]. If you call their number, they want you to put in your account number before you can continue and if you don't it is a vicious cycle of ringing and then on hold for a reported wait time of 30 minutes...no one ever answers. Their invoice shows a lot of small print detail about how the website is the general promotional website for the company in order to 'inform' visitors about their branded services and products. It also states that 'any information transmitted to WebsiteBackup through the website by a visitor is considered non-confidential and may be used by WebsiteBackup in its sole discretion'. Another thing that is unsettling to me is that you have to download your information to their site to use their services. That is how they gain access to your information.
I believe it to be a scam not unlike the Yellow Pages directory solicitations.
