Received invoice by USPS with charges for annual fee for website backup service plan from WebsiteBackup Company, 2375 E. Camelback Rd., Suite 600, Phoenix, AZ 85016. On the reverse side of the invoice it gives specific instructions on how to access your account using the account number on the invoice and your website name as a default. Strongly encouraging you to login and update your password. We have never had contact with this company or requested any of their services. This is a promotional mailing disguised as an invoice. Very deceptive.

They send a Marketing/Sales letter purporting to be an account summary and which has all the appearance of an invoice for services. It is a deceptive attempt to get someone to send them payment, which is really also approval, for a service they haven't requested. I caught their activity and did not send them "payment."
If this is not considered a scam, because they may or may not provide the service referenced, then it is at best something else unsavory and unethical.

Received a fake bill/statement from WebsiteBackup. This was intended to directly hit accounts payable in hopes it would be paid without being reviewed. We have not and will not do business with companies with fraudulent tactics like this. See attached copy.

Websitebackup mailed a fake invoice to the school where I work. We've never used (or heard of) this service. The bill had our business information and a fake account number. After reading both pages (front and back) I finally found this under their Cancellation Policy: "We offer a 10-day money-back guarantee from your initial WebsiteBackup plan sign up date. Sign up date is considered the date WebsiteBackup receives your payment."
So by paying this fake invoice, you actually sign up for service! Beware.

WebsiteBackup.com is mailing what looks like an invoice in hopes that unsuspecting companies will pay for their service. We called around our company to find out who enlisted the services of this company. No one did. It does not say that it is a solicitation. There is not cover letter. It simply looks like a bill that needs to be paid. Please warn others and ask WebsiteBackup to add verbiage to their solicitation that people aren't tricked into using their service. Thank you.

WebsiteBackup sends a bill that includes your company information and an account number for services that were not ordered.
