Review: I scheduled a dental appointment due to pain in my gums. The appointment was made for 2pm. When I entered the dental facility there was one person whom I walked in 1 minute after. Approximately 35 minutes after entering a gentleman entered the facility. The woman in front of me was called and immediately following the gentleman was called. I waited an additional half hour before seeing anyone

I checked the sign in sheet to make sure I was correct in my assumption of the man coming in after me. I also asked the receptionist about it to which she did not reply. The customer service was unacceptable.Desired Settlement: This is not the first experience I have had here in which the wait time was ridiculous. This is however the first time someone has blatantly been called ahead of me despite being signed in after and due to what appears to bw nepotism. I would like an apology but realistically this will be my last visit to this dental office.

Response:

There are times when patients are not called in order of the sign in sheet due to the following reasons: 1. Although we see patients on a "walk-in" basis, we try to treat scheduled patients as close to their scheduled appointment time as possible. Because of this, there are times scheduled patients are called before a patient who seeks treatment on a walk-in basis. 2. We have different rooms designated for different procedures. A patient may be called in ahead of another based on the availability of rooms. We contacted this patient on 10/**/14, 11/**/14, and 12/**/14 to inform her that we had obtained the required authorization for root canal therapy. Patient never made an appointment to seek treatment. On Wednesday 2/**/15, at around 10 she called our office indicating she wanted to be seen because of "painful gums". Our office is closed on Wednesdays (although we answer phone calls), so patient was given an immediate appointment to come in as an emergency. This does not constitute that she gets priority over our other patients, some of whom have made appointments weeks in advance. Nevertheless, all patients are treated with same respect and care but some have a longer wait time than others. I have reviewed the surveillance films of the day in question. This patient walked in SEVERAL minutes after the previous patient, not 1 minute. The complainant states a male patient walks in 35 minutes after her; he walks in approximately 5 minutes after her (First patient signed in at 1:45, Complainant 1:46 , and male patient 2:00). It should also be noted that the time "1:46" was written several minutes after her arrival when she went back to front desk to make payments for her visit. I also did not observe her approaching the receptionist as she states in her complaint besides the one time when she made payment for her visit. We strive to provide excellent dental care to our patients. Although the patient in question did not have an appointment for a lengthy root canal procedure, I managed to fit her between my other patients to relieve and treat her toothache. Although she states that the visit of 2/**/15 was her last visit, she has scheduled an appointment to return for the next stage of her treatment. I am surprised and shocked of her motives for the false statements, and this complaint in general
