an exclusion of benefits for Certified Surgical AssistantsThis is why the claim deniedThis insurance carrier doesn't contract with surgical assistants, nor provide coverage for these services, although this is necessary for the safe completion of his surgery.On the patient's behalf, we appealed to his insurance company to cover this service, however they state that this is not a benefit that is covered by the policyThe patient's dispute isn't with us, but with his insurance carrier who excludes these servicesFurther, this patient signed a form when admitted to the hospital that specifically states that there may be providers that provide care that are not employed by the hospital, and he agrees to whatever services his physician deems necessary for his careThis formal so states that these providers may bill separately for their services.Our company has spent a significant amount of time and effort providing services to this patientNot only did our provider assist with his surgery to insure a safe and effective outcome, our office staff billed his insurance and appealed their denial.As a courtesy to the primary surgeon, we agreed to write-off this patient's billThis provider assisted on his surgery, and didn't get paid for his workOur office worked tirelessly on his insurance claim, also without being paid.Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office.Sincerely,Valleywide Surgical Services, LLC
