I signed on with the local Weedman franchise to fertilize my lawn. My lawn was measured and I was given a price. This year I noticed that the back half of my yard was getting full of weeds. This went on into at least October. One day I came home shortly after Weedman had been here and looked at my lawn. They had failed to do the entire back half of my lawn. When I contacted them About it, all they did was come out and do what they should have done to begin with. So they charged me full price every time they came out and were doing have of the promised work. That is stealing in my book. When I contacted the company to cancel my service, I got a snarky e-mail back from a guy named[redacted].Product_Or_Service: Weed control and fertilizationDesired SettlementI think since only half the work agreed upon was done in 2013, I should get at least half the money I paid in 2013 refunded. The reason I say at least, is that now I have a back yard full of weeds that I did not expect to have because I paid a supposedly professional organization to handle it.

Promised lawn would look good in year with with service. Looks worse now than before. Owner very rude ! All rec. include more $ Final straw cursed me started service with the promise in yr lawn would look great if I followed their plan (which I did). Now 1 1/2 yr later my lawn looking worse than before I stated with many more bare spots. Kept getting excuses to cause but everything he suggested would cost more $ but still not giving me cause. I questioned him and he said I didn't trust him and I said that is right and then he cursed at me (yup [redacted] the owner) My landscaper happened to be here during this last time [redacted] was at my house and heard this he also said I will find out cause of issues which he did, put down chemical and now I am happy to say the bare spots are filling in not getting worse!!! [redacted] was extremely rude to me but have to say the workers were always nice. If you are in this business and people are complaining you need to do some research as to what is causing issue because if you don't you could put tons of chemicals down and not the right one the problem is still going to be there. I don't want to add what the issue was because I don't want to help him in anyway.Desired SettlementIt would be nice to get a refund for chemicals that were put down but did nothing.Business Response There are no such things as guarantees with lawn care, and no one at this office would ever promise anything other than to use the absolute best in products and practices available.This particular lawn had significant winter damage and spring disease, which, coupled with drainage issues, caused multiple thin / bare areas in the law. This was explained to the customer by a technician, was explained with a follow-up phone call, and was explained on-site by the owner during a courtesy visit. During each of these conversations, the customer was given multiple options - some of which would require supplemental services, some of which would not.In a subsequent phone call, the customer stated they had thought about it and did not believe what we were saying / recommending. We then stated that given her feelings, maybe she should find a lawn service she felt more comfortable with - we would cancel future services, and not to pay the accounts receivable balance on her account.As far as we are concerned, the account is closed.Consumer Response The last time [redacted] from weedman came to my house to look at the issue of bare spots in my lawn. He gave me many reasons as to why this was happening, none of them being the cause. As I said my landscaper happened to be there this day and when [redacted] left he said I will find out what is causing the issue which he did (and I am not disclosing to help [redacted]) and now you can see the grass growing in these bare spots and this is only doing what my landscaper found out what the problem was. Basically [redacted] is a rude bser (excuse me) only way to describe him because that is all he gave me. If you are going to be in the lawn business you need to really to do your research on why things are happening not just randomly do this or do that knowing what problem is. he is full of empty promises. I am requesting the money I have paid for treatments this past year when clearly there was a big issue and he totally ignored. [redacted] is welcome to come and take a look at former bare spots are clearly filling in.

I prepaid for a set number of lawn care maintenance service visits in late summer 2015. In fall 2015, I also paid for an aeration and seeding service. Weed Man continued to provide lawn service at my home in winter 2016 though not requested nor authorized and has billed me for these undesirable services.Product_Or_Service: lawn careDesired SettlementI do not want to pay for services that I neither requested nor authorized. Business Response At Weed Man, we take pride in the fact that we do not require customers to sign contracts to retain their business. It is the best form of compliment when customers choose to continue our service instead of being locked into a contract. Without a contract, we do ask each customer to simply call us if they choose to no longer receive our services. Without a contract, we only have our word and our performance to retain customers. Our retention is 80%+ year over year.Timeline of events in question:* 12/2015 - After completing the 2015 applications. We sent a letter to the customer reminding him that we would be continuing his basic service in 2016 unless he informed us to stop. .... No response* 01/2016 - we called the customer to inform him we were going to perform his first application of 2016. .... No response. * 03/2016 - we called the customer to inform him we were going to perform his second application. .... No response.* 04/2016 - we called the customer to inquire about the balance.... The customer informed us that he disputed the January and March charges. Our communication and service has been without contradiction or dishonesty. We provided quality services and ample opportunity to discontinue our services prior to being performed. We do not agree that a refund is in order.
