They did an authorized treatment and are now threatening collection if I don't pay the bill! They are an extremely unprofessional unreliable unethical businessStay Away!

We appreciate the ways that ABD has transformed our space to make it accessibleMy husband, ***, who's in a power chair now has a bathroom that allows him to be independent in ways that were not possible before from the large roshower to the low-impact cork floors, to the automatic toilet/bidet, not only did this company cover all the bases, they did so with the highest quality materials and craftsmanshipWe are so pleased with the results!

That the workers were nice and friendly and respected the veteran. The job seemed to take longer than usual, because of organization, but they were very nice and overall A+, and they would still do it again. They went out of the way to accommodate the veteran and helped her when she needed. Also tried their best finish the bathroom especially the toilet so that the veteran could be accommodated as soon as possible.

It all started when mom decided to quit driving. Being across town it made sense to move her closer to be sure she stayed active, so we purchased a house in the neighborhood. Having had experience with an elderly parent living alone at home we recognized the need for handicap accessibility. We had visited with Accessibility By Design at a past Lafayette Home Show event and gave them a call to help us with the remodel. We wanted to be sure that we would address and make the necessary changes so we would not be faced with having to make additional modifications while mom was living in the house.
As is always the case with a project like this, there were numerous ups and downs. But throughout the process Rachel and Stephen worked with us as a team, exchanging ideas and injecting expertise to make (in some cases extensive) changes to the interior layout that would make the house livable for a handicapped individual but retain its character as a family residence. They supplied or brought in the trade experience necessary to accomplish the tasks at hand, but also allowed us to use trade personnel we had experience with as well.
First there were two places where expected future wheelchair access would need ramps. Working together we devised innovative solutions to make this work without compromising the integrity or the appearance of the house. Second there were two bathrooms, but the master was too small to accommodate access even with a walker, much less a wheelchair. Since the bathrooms where adjacent, we tore out the adjoining wall and repositioned the plumbing fixtures so now both bathrooms are not only handicap accessible but keep the appearance of a normal household and I might add beautiful in their own right. There were numerous other smaller details which we worked out to complete satisfaction.
As mentioned while there were some down phases in the process Rachel and Stephen worked diligently with us to make them right to our satisfaction. It seems they truly live by the motto "the customer is usually right". We appreciated this so much that when it came time to sell mom's old house, we contracted them to do the repairs necessary to put it on the market. (It sold in half a day, but that might just be a coincidence). They are currently reviewing the plans for our new house to be sure that we won't be faced with modification issues in the future. We have already recommended Accessibility By Design to several other individuals and would likely use them on any other future projects we may have.

We appreciate the ways that ABD has transformed our space to make it accessible. We are so pleased with the results!
