Here is the follow up emailWanted to clear up a few of the details*** originally talked to me about project May not I gave him a quote and he said he wanted work performed in the fall when we were slowing downHe
said he would have one of his "yard guys from Collinsville there giving us a handHe was adament about no one knowing who was doing the workWe had to hide our trucks and wear his T shirtsI contacted him in September and he said he did not have material in stock yetHe had to get trucked in from ChicagoHe finally got the materials in late OctoberWe installed the retaining walls per plansEverything went smoothWe laid out the first patioPavers were oversize and extremely hard to levelHe was there every day watching usNever said anything to me until we were finished with patio then said he wanted it ripped outWe spent a whole day removing patio and re setting brickOn to the next patioThis one was quite smallOnce again he was there every dayThere was one low spot that held a little waterI sent my workers up on three separate occasionsHe would never let them know what he wanted doneJust belittle them and asked if they have ever done this type of work beforeWe had a very cold winter that yearWe worked on display when ground was not frozenHe said multiple times he was in no big hurry, just wanted to get it done before SpringOn to the Thirs patioWe show up to start patioHe has no material thereSays "they will be on the truck tomorrow"We set out grades for the thickness of paversPavers show up the next day and they are an inch thickerWe had to completely redo baseIt was like this throughout the whole processMaterial wasn't there when he said and his "yard guys" never helped us onceHe never had a problem with our work beforeWe have done two large retaining walls at his house and also a front landscaping and stone wallPart of the deal was to get job referralsWe never got oneAlso he has never paid us in fullHe made us take in store credit to benefit himI started pricing around my materials and found cheaper elsewhereI gave him the opurtunity to price match his competitor however after numerous years of doing business he was not willing to match pricingNow he is upset because we have been buying materials elsewhere when we used to buy $8-12,per month from himIt seems ironic this complaint arose after I took my business elsewhereLet me know if you need anything else

Please find attached a copy of the proposal from Weilbacher LandscapingAs you will see, there is no mention that I would have our employees help with the installation of this displayWhy would I pay a contractor to complete a job and then have my employees help? There was a delay with the start of the project as material had not arrived*** was informed of this situation and was understanding, as he had other jobs to complete
I did ask his crew to wear CIFCO shirts and park their truck out of sight, as a professional courtesy to my other contactorsThis is protocol for material companies in the StLouis area, when having display work done
As far as payment, why would I pay someone who first did not properly complete the job and second who owed our company money in excess of the jobIn fact he owed us money after the credit was applied to his account, which was paid in full
The issues have not been resolve in this matter, as our display is still not properly installedWe would like *** to either repair the issues with the display or have a contractor of his choosing repair it*** dug the footing for the display and left the rest to his crew to complete*** was not present during this timeI had expressed my concern by phone to *** several timesThe sand base by industry standard should be no more than 1" thickThe base varied from 1" to 6" deepI met with *** in person and told him they needed to remove the pavers and correctly install the base of sandAfter this meeting *** seemed more distant and still did not supervise the work being doneHad *** supervised this project, we not have these issues today
