As per *** complaint
She called the shop on or about Feb she said wheels would not work on the snow blower
The machine was picked up and a new cable was installed part # *** (Drive
clutch cable)
She stated in the complaint that she thinks the old cable was reinstalled this cannot be done
When this cable fails the hook on the spring end of the cable brakes off due to common wear and cannot be
repaired,you can see this cable in photo # *** as you can see this is a new part
This repair was carried out under sales receipt # ***
This repair sales receipt # *** is paid in full,method of payment *** credit card
The machine was returned to ***,she complained about the repair price
when she signed the credit card slip at the machine delivery location
Now for the second repair
*** called a few day later saying the machine was slow or would not move in reverse #
Now first of all the cable that controls the speed changes of the machine is another cable not conected to above
listed cableThis cable part #*** (Speed selector cable) runs from the speed and direction control
lever on the dash panel to a brass colored bracket on the outside lower section at the rear of the machine
This can be seen in photo # *** The two seperate cables cab be seen in photo # ***
The cable on the right is the one that was replaced on sales receipt # *** the other cable is ok
The cable to the right controls the on and off motion of the wheels,the cable to the left controls
the speed and direction of the wheels the speed direction cable is ok and needs no attention
I went to ***s location and checked the adjustmant on the speed selector cable part #*** on location
there was nothing wrong with the cable or the adjustment, I starter the machine tested the foward and back action
of the machine all worked fine,there is no work order on this service call as I did not charge *** for this
Sometimes on a wet day or if the snow is light the friction wheel and plate will get wet causing the wheels
not to turn in the lower speed settings IE foward # and reverse # after the machine is run for a while
usually minutes or so in the higher speed settings the parts will dry off and lower speed settings
will work again as long as the friction wheel is not wore to bad,the friction wheel is the black rubber ring seen
in photo # ***
Now the second repair was needed because the friction wheel (the black rubber ring)rolled off friction wheel carrier
as seen in photo # *** and *** this let the the two metal parts grind against one another and destroying both
parts,the damaged parts cab bee seen in photo numbers *** shows damage to the
black rubber ring (friction wheel)
There are a few things that could make this happen, the linkage that moves the friction wheel carrier
left and right across the friction plate is worn letting the carrier move when it is when it should not move until
the speed selector lever is moved,this is not the case on this machine the linkage is ok
the friction carrier shaft bearings failed,the friction wheel carrier shaft is the hex shaft seen in photo
***,these roller bearings are located bearing on each side of the shaft,there bearings were wore bad but
not to failer point,the bearings were replaced with new ones as the old bearings were wore to bad to reuse
the speed selector cable part number*** brakes,the brass colored bracket it hooks into is spring loaded
if the cable brakes the machine will jump to the high forward speed position,the cable did not brake and is ok
this did not cause the damage
Operator Error
The drive control lever was not released when the gear shift lever was moved,this will put undo side strain on the
friction wheel causing it to roll off the friction wheel carrier
The friction wheel carrier will than contact the friction plate causing severe damage to both parts
The only repair option when this happens is to replace the parts
A repair of this sort takes about to hours labor as the machine has to be about percent disassembled
The cable that was replaced on sales receipt *** has nothing to do with and cannot cause the damage that was
repaired on sales receipt *** as they are to seperate control systems on the machine
As for ***s statments the first repair not done properly ***
I have plus years in the small equiptment repair service

As for her statmeent of not backing up the work,all repair jobs listed on work order is warrentyed fo days
parts and labor from date on work order
As for a estimate on the repair she did request an estimate on any work orders

As for her request to return the machine and waiver the cost,this I cannot do,I have spent my money to buy
the repair parts that were needed to repair the machineIf I buy repair parts,spend time to repair and let
repaired equiptment go out the door at no charge the doors at City Mower Repair would be closed and I would
be looking for a job
I have treated *** good I have even saved her a few dollars by giving her a discount on the pickup
charge on sales receipt *** and installed a good used friction wheel carrier assy on sales receipt ***

I can not and will not release the machine until the total amnount on Sales Receipt # *** is paid in full

What I can do for *** if she does not have the means to pay the sales receipt at this time
is to store the machine here at a rate of zero storage fee until she can pay
