Weisenborn Plumbing Inc Reviews (6)

We did replace a water heater for the *** on 9-8-15. Mrs*** called me after hours that night and said it was not heating. I sent a man before we opened the next morning to investigate and to help accommodate the
*** work schedule He replaced the thermostat under warranty and left. We later received a call about the water heater leaking out the pressure relief valve. Again we returned under warranty and replaced parts. Mrs*** did call me about a bucket in her basement. My men knew nothing about this bucket. We returned and covered all issues pertaining to the water heater Mr*** even wrote a check for $as a tip for one of our employees. I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience that was caused by high water pressure in the *** *** area of *** **. And faulty water heater thermostat on brand new heater. That too was unexpected for me but as always covered and attended to quicklyThank You

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have attached detailed notes regarding this whole situation.  I am highly disappointed by the lack on communication with the business owners.  To have multiple parts on a brand new water heater being replaced immediately after installation is ridiculous. They should have offered a new water heater to be installed. To have such a lack of detailed response to my complaint does not seem to surprise me.  I am mentally exhausted by this whole situation. I will never use this business again nor recommend to anyone.
Regards,
[redacted]

Addressing the complaint from Mr. [redacted], we did indeed replace his main gas line.  Upon completion it was inspected by Mountaineer Gas.  It passed the inspection. The gas company was in that area again in the following days and said they found a leak in the main line (new pipe),...

that in their words is a defect in the pipe in a small section (less than 6").  They then advised us to cut that section out and replace it.  The customer was aware of this at the time, as well.  I then talked to Mr. [redacted] about I had invoice him the lower end of our estimate because the job went so smooth but now I will be invoicing for the extra work, that would still come in under our original estimate.  He agreed and we completed the job and invoiced him.  He did NOT pay for the extra work.  The gas company at the time of this work also stated they would be monitoring this line and contact us with any issues.  To date there has been no issues.  So I ask Mr. [redacted] to please pay us for the agreed extra work.

Thank you

In response to a complaint we received from [redacted], we would first like to address the issues she had with the way our
office is run. We are one of the twenty eight million small businesses found
across the United States....

According to Forbes  Magazine, a small business is defined as
a business that has less than five hundred employees. Over half of these
businesses are run from a home based office. We did not appreciate the comment
about our "abandon looking house" as we are in the process of fixing up
this house to convert into a shop for our business. We take much pride in our
community and have purchased several homes around the area and have done
improvements, which has increased the value of not only the home, but the
neighborhoods that they are located in as well. With this being said, we are
still a home based business as we have been for nearly fifty years. For obvious
safety reasons, we do not allow customers to come to our home based office, nor
do we have posted office hours. However, we have always handled all service
through the phone. This is exactly what we did for Mrs. [redacted] and her
husband. Providing them with an estimate the day that they called for service
and then scheduling the work for two days later. We have recently changed our
policy to a "pay at time of service" which Mrs. [redacted] and her
husband were made well aware of. Mrs. [redacted] agreed to leave a check when she
left for work and we would leave a receipt for her when we were finished. When
our plumber began the job, and Mrs. [redacted] had already left for work, he was
having some difficulties accessing the pipes and needed the help of a second
person. We moved around our schedule so that a second plumber could help, so
that the job could be completed that day as we had promised it would be. When
there was a leak found in one of the pipes, we immediately sent one of the
plumbers back at no charge to fix this. We charge $63.00 an hour per man. This
is why her bill states 6.25 hours for one man labor. Between two men, they were
each there for three hours. Also, the customers time starts when our plumbers
leave the shop in the morning to head to that particular job. Any parts or
equipment that need to be picked up for that job is part of the time that the
customer is billed for. We also have a $15.00 fuel charge that is simply a gas
service charge so that we can keep our rates low. The total of Mrs. [redacted]'s
bill is $503.67 after we gave her an estimate of $400-$700. So, I believe we
hit the nail on the head. We did exactly what we were hired for, even nailing
the estimate down at the lower end. I am not sure what else a company is to do
to provide customer service?

Stay Away - very unprofessional and outright rude

Unethical business practices and just plain rude

I had talked with other contractors, and goal was fairly simple I thought, install a brand new natural gas service to my house where there had not been any natural gas service. The contractor that was ultimately used was Weisenborn Plumbing. All of the work that involved the digging or filling in of the trench was performed by their employees. I did a walk through with their employee, showed him where the gas company wanted to set the meter, and I showed him where the furnace was going to be placed in the closet.
Initially, the project went along well. The gas company came and approved where the gas line was to be installed, and the initial trench was dug. See picture #1.
The appointment with Mountaineer gas to set the meter was scheduled for July 15, 2013 between 8:00 and 12:00 PM. I met with the representative from the gas company and he advised me that the emergency gas shutoff for the furnace needed to moved higher in the closet so that it could be more easily seen. See picture #2. It was at that time that I incurred the extra expense of $ 177.53 on invoice # [redacted].I paid that additional charge without any question, although the charges seemed high for the actual work that was performed.
Initial testing of the line from the gas company tested line, and the ok was given to fill in the trench. Weisenborn then came and filled in the trench. The next issue arose when the final appointment from the gas company to turn on my service occurred next.
The Pressure test of the line was OK, but there holes in the line that were leaking when this final test was performed. The gas company initially wanted the entire new gas line to be replaced. Weisenborn and the gas company came to an agreement to allow the line to be patched. See picture #3 and picture #4. It is still not know if there was a bad section of pipe, or if it was damaged during the installation. But as you can see from picture #4, there was a very large section of line that had to be replaced and coupled together.
We then left the trench open and the gas company again came back to perform their test to turn on my gas service. The service was turned on shortly thereafter.
I now have gas service, but mine is the only service in the area that has been tagged by the gas company "Flow Rate Limited Service" tag on meter illustrated by Picture #5. I looked around the other gas meters in my neighborhood and I am the only meter that is tagged in such a manner.
All told I have paid Weisenborn a total of $2,678.00 for a new gas line that was initially quoted to me between 2,000.00 and 2,500.00 by their employee, [redacted]. When I paid the last payment in September of 2013 I had written a note to their [redacted] to call me. Her description on invoice # [redacted]; see copy attached.
"Discounting-as I discussed with you to on the phone I am billing the rest of what our original estimate was for $3000.00". (See attached)
There was NEVER an estimate that was given to me in the amount of $3,000.00. Weisenborn would not have been given the job with that high of an estimate.
To this date, I have never received any communication from them via telephone or the mail until the end of March 2014 when I received a revised statement with interest charges added in. I have also received a collection notice from a collection agency in the amount of 394.20.
I had tried to call the collections agency on their toll-free number and that rang a couple of times and went busy. When I was able to speak with [redacted] from that agency to discuss this I asked him how that he obtained my cellular number, and he explained that this number was provided to them from the contractor, Weisenborn Plumbing.  As I stated above, I had
contacted for a brand new gas line to be installed in my house where there was
no prior service. What I have is a line that has been patched together. There
was either a defect in the materials, and or a problem with the work performed
by the contractor that caused these extra charges to be incurred. I do not feel
that those charges are legitimate based on the issues that I have outlined
above.
