Weisenborn Plumbing Reviews (3)

I had talked with other contractors, and goal was fairly simple I thought, install a brand new natural gas service to my house where there had not been any natural gas serviceThe contractor that was ultimately used was Weisenborn PlumbingAll of the work that involved the digging or filling in of the trench was performed by their employeesI did a walk through with their employee, showed him where the gas company wanted to set the meter, and I showed him where the furnace was going to be placed in the closet Initially, the project went along wellThe gas company came and approved where the gas line was to be installed, and the initial trench was dugSee picture # The appointment with Mountaineer gas to set the meter was scheduled for July 15, between 8:and 12:PMI met with the representative from the gas company and he advised me that the emergency gas shutoff for the furnace needed to moved higher in the closet so that it could be more easily seenSee picture #It was at that time that I incurred the extra expense of $ on invoice # ***.I paid that additional charge without any question, although the charges seemed high for the actual work that was performed Initial testing of the line from the gas company tested line, and the ok was given to fill in the trenchWeisenborn then came and filled in the trenchThe next issue arose when the final appointment from the gas company to turn on my service occurred next The Pressure test of the line was OK, but there holes in the line that were leaking when this final test was performedThe gas company initially wanted the entire new gas line to be replacedWeisenborn and the gas company came to an agreement to allow the line to be patchedSee picture #and picture #It is still not know if there was a bad section of pipe, or if it was damaged during the installationBut as you can see from picture #4, there was a very large section of line that had to be replaced and coupled together We then left the trench open and the gas company again came back to perform their test to turn on my gas serviceThe service was turned on shortly thereafter I now have gas service, but mine is the only service in the area that has been tagged by the gas company "Flow Rate Limited Service" tag on meter illustrated by Picture #I looked around the other gas meters in my neighborhood and I am the only meter that is tagged in such a manner All told I have paid Weisenborn a total of $2,for a new gas line that was initially quoted to me between 2,and 2,by their employee, ***When I paid the last payment in September of I had written a note to their [redacted] to call meHer description on invoice # ***; see copy attached "DiscountiI discussed with you to on the phone I am billing the rest of what our original estimate was for $3000.00"(See attached) There was NEVER an estimate that was given to me in the amount of $3,Weisenborn would not have been given the job with that high of an estimate To this date, I have never received any communication from them via telephone or the mail until the end of March when I received a revised statement with interest charges added inI have also received a collection notice from a collection agency in the amount of I had tried to call the collections agency on their toll-free number and that rang a couple of times and went busyWhen I was able to speak with *** from that agency to discuss this I asked him how that he obtained my cellular number, and he explained that this number was provided to them from the contractor, Weisenborn Plumbing As I stated above, I had contacted for a brand new gas line to be installed in my house where there was no prior serviceWhat I have is a line that has been patched togetherThere was either a defect in the materials, and or a problem with the work performed by the contractor that caused these extra charges to be incurredI do not feel that those charges are legitimate based on the issues that I have outlined above [redacted]

In response to a complaint we received from [redacted] , we would first like to address the issues she had with the way our office is runWe are one of the twenty eight million small businesses found across the United States According to Forbes Magazine, a small business is defined as a business that has less than five hundred employeesOver half of these businesses are run from a home based officeWe did not appreciate the comment about our "abandon looking house" as we are in the process of fixing up this house to convert into a shop for our businessWe take much pride in our community and have purchased several homes around the area and have done improvements, which has increased the value of not only the home, but the neighborhoods that they are located in as wellWith this being said, we are still a home based business as we have been for nearly fifty yearsFor obvious safety reasons, we do not allow customers to come to our home based office, nor do we have posted office hoursHowever, we have always handled all service through the phoneThis is exactly what we did for Mrs [redacted] and her husbandProviding them with an estimate the day that they called for service and then scheduling the work for two days laterWe have recently changed our policy to a "pay at time of service" which Mrs [redacted] and her husband were made well aware ofMrs [redacted] agreed to leave a check when she left for work and we would leave a receipt for her when we were finishedWhen our plumber began the job, and Mrs [redacted] had already left for work, he was having some difficulties accessing the pipes and needed the help of a second personWe moved around our schedule so that a second plumber could help, so that the job could be completed that day as we had promised it would beWhen there was a leak found in one of the pipes, we immediately sent one of the plumbers back at no charge to fix thisWe charge $an hour per manThis is why her bill states hours for one man laborBetween two men, they were each there for three hoursAlso, the customers time starts when our plumbers leave the shop in the morning to head to that particular jobAny parts or equipment that need to be picked up for that job is part of the time that the customer is billed forWe also have a $fuel charge that is simply a gas service charge so that we can keep our rates lowThe total of Mrs [redacted] 's bill is $after we gave her an estimate of $400-$So, I believe we hit the nail on the headWe did exactly what we were hired for, even nailing the estimate down at the lower endI am not sure what else a company is to do to provide customer service?

Stay Away - very unprofessional and outright rude Unethical business practices and just plain rude
