I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
I wanted to say that I did sign a consent form on 2/28/only and it was only for the extraction of molar teeth. Yes I signed a financial form 2/28/as well. But a dentist shouldn't keep charging a patient for a problem that occurred from the negligence on their part when the first procedure was performed. On 3/6/I was in pain from the procedure he performed incompletely on 2/28/and therefore it should have been included in my payment with the extraction of the teeth on 2/28/14. Again, the only time I was ever told to my face that there would be a charge to me was on 2/28/when the dentist performed extractions where a hole was left in my gum after the assistant sucked the hole out and I felt my sinus move in my right nostril. Again, the assistant was the one who told me the charge. On 3/6/when I was seen he blew air on my gum where the hole was and the next following days I couldn't hear our of my right ear and the ENT said it was pressurized air trapped behind my eardrum and I had to take a steroid pack to help with it since I didn't want a hole placed in my eardrum to release the air. All of the problems I have had with this extraction could have been avoided if the dentist did his job with packing the hole right after he did the extraction. He is supposedly an oral surgeon yet he did nothing that another oral surgeon would have done after extracting the tooth. I called other oral surgeon offices and was told what is supposed to be done when there is a communication to the sinus after a tooth is extracted. This dentist just wanted to make it out that it was no big deal.
No where in their reply did they mention why the assistant was the one giving out dental advice and information and doing the dentist's job. They had no reply as to why the assistant was the one who told me what the xrays said and what I should do about it. They had no reply as to why I was not informed of the risk of a communication to my sinus before the procedure was done. I am very positive that had they told me that risk, I would NOT have had either extraction that day. I would have went to a REAL oral surgeon. I totally regret ever stepping foot in that building. I feel that all they want is a patient's money because the lady who handles the scheduling and money part told me that there is a charge of $every time you are seen in their office, yet I was never told this before I received that statement on 3/18/14. I accept that they are taking off the charge for the $charge because that is the right thing for them to do since this should have been done when the tooth was extracted on 2/28/and he saw to my sinus. But I think their office needs to be investigated for an assistant doing the dentist's job and you might find there are other patients who got bad treatment and excessive charges but didn't think that anything could be done about it. I also want to find out how to report to the Dental Board of SC that this dentist is not doing his job completely and is letting the assistant do it for him while he is drinking whatever it is he puts in his cup. Could be*** for all I know but my husband did see him drinking out of different cups. Hard for me to see that when I am laying on the procedure chair. This is ridiculous that I have had to go through this when they could have told me from the very beginning before I ever let them inside my mouth. But again, they just wanted my money. I would like for the my records along with all xrays taken by them, which were I think, to be sent to another dentist unless they want to charge for that as well. If there is a charge, then they can just keep them. I am very disappointed because I now have this hole and a gap in my gum and I will need additional surgery in order to talk again and to get an implant. I still can't talk normal. Again, they should have informed me of all risks involved with this procedure. If I go to a medical dr for surgery, they always have informed me of all risks. Other dentists have informed of risks. This dentist, Gordon Gray, nor his assistant informs patients of ANY risks. How can they be in business if they aren't practicing correctly?

After our conversation this morning on the phone I am responding as requested with a email regarding the complaint made against us 03-19-14 regarding services for [redacted] ID OF[redacted].
The desired settlement the patient is requesting $378.00 for services...

she received on 03-14-2014 will be removed. With leaving her a 0.00 balance.
The patient did receive services also on 03-06-14 that we did not charge her. If the patient would like us to forward her medical records to another medical office we will do that for her at no charge also. We apologize if the patient was not happy with her services. Please let us know if the desired settlement is acceptable. The patient did sign OUR FINANCIAL POLICY concerning financial responsibilities reagarding charges on 02-28-14 her first visit. We also have a consent form the patient signed on 02-28-14 before services were performed stating what what type of procedure was going to be performed and the risk and complications. We will send the patient today a new statement showing a 0.00 balance.
