Initial Business Response /* (1000, 16, 2016/02/08) */
I have discussed Mr. [redacted]'s complaints with my client. Mr. [redacted] assumed a lease from another tenant who had moved out. At the time Mr. [redacted] moved in, the master bedroom door frame was kicked in. Prior to the original tenant moving in,...

the door frame was in proper working condition. Regardless of what the prior tenant told Mr. [redacted], Mr. [redacted] had been provided by the move-in detail sheet, which does not show any damage to the master bedroom door frame. This information has been told to Mr. [redacted] on more than one occasion and the move-in inspection sheet has also been provided to him. Welcome Home always strives to keep its clients and tenants happy and provide service to them. Unfortunately, because Welcome Home must protect the interest of the owners, as well as the tenant interest, usually there is one party who feels they have been treated wrongfully. Welcome Home denies that there was a "problem with communication and timelines" as stated in Mr. [redacted]'s report. Welcome Home would be glad to provide any supportive documentation to the Revdex.com should it deem appropriate. Thank you for your attention with regard to the above. Should you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact my offices.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 18, 2016/02/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The only communication I have received from Welcome Home is one email where they state that the original form shows no damage to that area. However, I was never provided with a move-in inspection sheet from the time I took over the lease nor was I provided with the move-in inspection sheet from the prior tenant as is stated above by the response that it was provided to me. I would ask that this documentation be provided to be verified, so I can also show it to the previous tenant who claimed that this damage existed and had been reported at move in.

Review: I purchased items from this store December 31, 2013. One of the items purchased was a reindeer made out of wooden sticks. I asked for this to be shipped to my address in Texas. I was called several days later with a quote for shipping that would cost twice as much as the actual reindeer. I was told someone would get other quotes from both USPS and UPS, and I would be called back. This call never came. Doing my research, I requested my own quote on FedEx.com to see what the problem was. It seems the reindeer was put in a much larger box than was actually required. I called back to find out what was going on and was told the lady dealing with the situation was on vacation and she would call me as soon as she got back to the store (this call also never came). I was also told at this time that the reindeer was no longer in the store and had been sold to another customer. I asked when I would be receiving my refund, and was told it should be soon. I have not received any sort of a refund, and I have now been unable to contact any persons at the store or through email (my email received a failure notice). To me this is theft from the customer. I was on vacation and paid in cash, which I usually don't do, lesson learned, always use a credit card. This would have given me the option to dispute the charge, rather than being stolen from as a customer.Desired Settlement: All I want is my money back.

Business

Response:

Company states that they tried to discourage the consumer from shipping as the shipping would be expensive. The consumer insisted as she did not think that it could be taken on the plane. I am not aware of any calls that were made. The store did close when Christmas was over and the is way no communication occurred. Now that I am aware of the problem I will be issuing a refund.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
