Welder Training and Testing Institute Reviews (1)

Review: We contacted WTTI numerous times to get some information about the school and what the requirements were. We spoke to admissions about the programs and made an appt to go down and to see the school and get some information on the programs they offered. I went down with all of my information (HS transcript and diploma). Admissions showed me around the school, however did not even bring me to financial aid to go over any funding that may be available for me. I was not thinking of using financial aid in the beginning because I wasn't sure of the options that were offered. Admissions knew I had a [redacted] HS diploma and did not say he didn't accept the diploma until after I paid $1,200 to attend a 2 week training program. While I was attending, I inquired about financial aid. As I requested information about financial aid, they starting giving me a hard time that they did not accept my diploma or could offer me financial aid. Admissions called me and told me that he looked into my HS dip and he stated they would accept it, told me I can start within a week, however later changed his mind. I called up the owner to try and resolve the issue and he was supposed to look into the issue, however he never got back to me with a resolution. [redacted] is accepted by other technical schools in PA and Universities. I contacted other tech schools in PA and they accept my HS diploma. I am not sure why WTTI does not accept my diploma that I have earned. They told me to go and get my GED or I can not get a diploma with them or continue school with financial aid. What I don't understand is why they took my $1,200 and then told me they weren't going to give me a diploma. This was the main reason for me going to school so I can start a career in welding. They did not return my calls for over a week and they never gave me a actual reason for not accepting my diploma, other than insulting me by saying I bought my diploma and that the state doesn't accept it anymore. I want my money back, the school is a joke!!!Desired Settlement: I received a certificate which I wanted a diploma for a complete course not a 60 hour certificate. They made me pay $1,200 + $300 for equipment for a 60 hour course which is not going to get me a job. They wasted my time and money. The school should know their policies prior to taking anyone's money and letting them start school.

At this time, I have been contacted by Welder Training and Testing Institute via phone and I do not accept the response from the company. This is regarding complaint ID [redacted]. They now want me to attend the school and get them letters from other colleges so they can accept me. At this point it has been months later and now I still need to do all of the leg work. This was financial aid's responsibility from the beginning and because of poor communication I was misinformed. I have been accepted at another school and I want a refund because I can not do anything with a 60 hour certificate.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: We went to WTTI on 11/25 to discuss and they want me to have my fiance provide letters from different schools just to accept me. It has been months and now they want me to attend only after I provide them with other schools acceptance letters and that should not be something I have to do. I got accepted into another school and I want a refund for the 60 hour course because of miscommunication and telling me I bought my high school diploma. I want a school that I can trust with my education, not someone that is denying my HS Diploma and telling me to get letters of proof of my HS Diploma or a GED to attend the school. I provided a HS Diploma and transcript at the beginning of my 60 hour course for WTTI like I was told to and that was not good enough for them. Also on December 2, 2013 I contacted Jason and left a voice mail and still have not heard back.

Regards,
