Well 4 Life Reviews (1)

I paid a total of $2211.00 for new engine and got a defective used engine instead. On July 15, 2015 I had to purchase a new engine to replace my damaged car engine and went to Ted’d Automotive Machine Shop. I had to purchase it through the repair shop to get it delivered to the repair shop. I had to pay a down payment of $1100.00 which I charge to my BOH card. And wait for it to ship. It arrived on July 24, 2015 and had to pay the balance of the cost of $1111.00 on my BOH card. After I the repair shop is a used engine with used parts that were just cleaned and resold as Rebuilt. The intake manifold gasket kit that came with the engine was inferior according to the General Motors Bulletins that came out with the class action lawsuits that won in court many years specified a new revised intake manifold gasket. I had to go out on my own and buy another intake manifold gasket kit recommended by auto parts manufacture Federal Mogual Fel Pro with cost me an additional $253.84 for a new proper intake manifold gasket kit and pay the repair shop an additional $366.50 to redo the gasket replacement job. The quality of the engine is inferior and not acceptable for use. I spoke to the manager there several times and excuses after excuses saying that he wanted to hear what the repair shop said about it. Day after day week after week I go back and check on it and he never even call them and gave me some other excuse to stall until the warranty runs out. So Saturday after I got my car returned back to me I took the car in and showed the owner Craig of Ted’s Automotive Machine Shop informed his that I diagnose the ruff idling and engine malfunction light repeatedly coming on and showed him that there is a ching ching ching sound coming from the lower part of the head of cylinder #3. I told him I discovered that this engine his company sold me is malfunctioning because of burning oil on spark plug #3 and #4 and the engine malfunction light code to be cylinder #3 misfire. The engine also leaks oil constantly on the ground. So he went to the back of my car and saw the black burnt oil residue. So all he does is push and hold the throttle lever down in the engine compartment to make it run smoothly which in turn all that does is wash away the oil with gasoline. So he claims nothing wrong. However he cannot stand in front of my car and hold down the thing in my engine while I’m driving on the street. He’s in denial. I keep having to remove the spark plugs and clean them to make my engine run. And after I clean them, it runs for a day and then same thing happens. It is not a cure for a defective engine! He then kept pumping more and more gas to cover up the problem. They know what is wrong because they repair engines exclusively in their shop for 50 years but don’t want to say or admit. Aug. 14, 2015 I went back for the third time and talked to Chad the sales manager again told him #3 and #4 still the same problem along with the engine malfunction light coming on every other day. He denies it and repeatedly tells me excuse he’ll call the repair shop and see what they say. I repeatedly tell him the misfire causing check engine light to come on every other day. And he never called the repair shop again. Tuesday Aug. 18, 2015 went back again for the 5th time and spoke the sales manager Chad and informed him I keep having to clean the spark plug and the ruff idling illuminating the check engine light. He gave me an excuse and wanted to see the spark plugs So I e-mailed him the photos and went back to discuss it with him and he give me another excuse and complain he can’t see it when he put it up on his computer I could see it nice and big. He gave me an excuse to see it even bigger. So the following day I sent him the photos an get no response from him. So I next sent him a e-mail regarding the ching ching ching sound from #3 cylinder and got no response. I believe he knows what’s wrong but is in denial. So on Aug.18, 2015 I took the car back to them and again spoke to the sales manager whom I e-mailed and offered to show him the check engine light and told him that I cleaned the spark plugs and it ran ok for one day and the same problem returned. He told me the same excuse that he wanted to see the actual spark plug and gave me a copy of a warranty disclaimer and told me I had to go by that. Only to discover the disclaimer belongs to some else’s purchase order #138925 of a part from “Japan Engine Inc.” and not my purchase order #582947 of a Engine from Apex Automotive Parts Inc. of EL Monte California. They again misled me. The engine they sold me has dirty valves, dirty valve springs, and dirty head bolts that should have been replace with new when you rebuild an engine. I believe there is a lot more that is hidden and cannot be seen until it is totally disassemble. The brown internal parts are commonly found in old used engines. So I e-mailed more photos. Friday Aug. 21, 2015 I took the car back into see Chad the sales manager and he gave me the same excuse again saying he’ll see what the mechanic at the repair shop says about it. I went back a week later Friday. And he never even speak to them again. And gave me an excuse that he want to see what the part number of the gasket kit I had to buy out of my own pocket to replace the inappropriate gasket that came with his engine that he sold me. So I sent him the part number and my cost for it and the additional cost for the labor. And asked for a refund and to come and retrieve their back. I asked that they would come and take their engine back. They never showed up for an entire week. So a week later I went back to their shop again and he told me you could have bought only the manifold gasket. Which was false because the professionals at NAPA Auto Parts looked it up on their computer and it listed only the whole kit is sold at a time together with the head gaskets and o-rings seals, which is what my vehicle calls for. He just told me that to evade the matter of my refund. Over a month later the engine has gotten worst and the car only go as fast as 35mph running on 4 cylinders out of the 6. I brought it back to their shop over ten times and they could not fix it. I returned the engine back to them and they didn’t want the used/rebuilt junk.
