Review: During the Fourth of July Weekend Sale, I went to the Red Barn store of this company, based on advertisement in the [redacted]. This store advertised a 2200 PSI power washer for $177.00. After travelling about 60 miles to get there, the store had only one left (unboxed), when my wife and I go to the register the store says this is AS IS sale, No refunds or returns. The [redacted] article did not state AS IS items or no returns/refunds. I purchased the item based on the theory that this item did work & operate properly. Well after getting the item home the next day , I attempted to start up this power washer following all instructions in the manuel. It did not start, so I took it to the Lawn repair man one block away. This shop looked at the washer and stated that it is defective and will not work without major repairs- this washer is supposed to be brand new.I called another shop in [redacted] and they state that the cost of suspected repairs could be another $160.00 or more. How can a business sell items without some kind of guarantee/etc, plus how can they advertise items under deceiptive terms that change when in the store (Bait and switch) False Avertising , Bad refund/return practicesDesired Settlement: I want a full refund. They need to change the current advertising they do,and they need to post the NO Return/refund policy in their stores outside the front door and over the counters/plus in the adds they post over three states.

I am writing in regards to ID #9630705 that has been turned

in against my business. The customer openly admitted in his letter that he

did buy this merchandise under an AS IS sale with no refunds or returns.

But yet, here we are now with him asking for a return/refund? I don’t know what

to say quite frankly! But in an effort to keep [redacted] happy and to appease the

Revdex.com, we will refund his money as long as he brings it back to us at our next

sale on August 2nd from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM and August 3rd

from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM in the condition he purchased it. If it has been taken

apart or tinkered with, there will be no refund issued. Also, I would like to

say that a lot of the merchandise we sell at our Red Barn location does have

manufacturers’ warranty. We, meaning Wellers do not get involved in it. But if

the consumer contacts the manufacturer and gets a warranty, then that is up to

them. As far as us changing the way we advertise by putting no returns/refunds

in our ads, I have no interest in that. Quite frankly it’s hard to believe that

if it WAS written in our ad, that [redacted] would have stayed home and not

visited our store. I have a feeling it would have been disregarded since he was

verbally told about it and still chose to purchase the item. I don’t know

what putting it in our ad would have prevented in this case. We verbally tell

the customers of our no refund/return policy because some people don’t read

signs (as in this case). We have had 3 large, bold signs (see attachments) in

our store for months now and as you can see by [redacted] “Desired Settlement”

statement, he didn’t see them. It’s hard to fathom how the customer was well

aware of the terms and conditions when he purchased the item and had no

objections at that time. He purchased this with his own free will, no one held

a gun to his head, threatened him in any way, shape or form and now that it’s

not what he wants/doesn’t work etc. he’s now ok breeching his agreement. It

saddens me at what society has come to in that everyone wants someone else to

be responsible for their own decisions. Again, we are still willing to refund

his money. Please encourage him to be civil when he arrives and make sure the

item is in the same condition as when he purchased it. If not, there is no need

for him to bring it back.
