This is a dangerous scam. I was told I would not pay a penny. I was in a dangerous place, but didn't want my family to have to pay to fly me home. This company takes advantage of the vulnerability of their patients. A year later, I am still being harassed by this company wanting what I CLEARLY stated I wasn't paying in our RECORDED initial conversations. I had skyrocketing blood pressure due to detoxing and there was NO medical staff AT ALL during my entire stay. I got by by hoarding my blood pressure pills and a lot of PRAYER. At one point, while en route to class, my BP was 190/112. I was told to "lay in the van," unless I wanted to go to the ER. Again, no medical staff. They were inadequately staffed and had an ex crack addict, who was sober, I should say, but completely unqualified, coloring with us and playing crossword puzzles to pass the time. There were times that I felt unsafe in this building, as there were not trained counselors to deescalate people who were, at times, aggressive, confrontational, and misogynistic in class. There was little to no access to AA or NA meetings as was promised (I attended 3 in thirty days). There was NO education provided by educated or trained counselors.There was NO GYM, and limited excursions. There was no cafeteria. Once we left our 6 hour day with the crack addict, we were literally imprisoned in the homes they put us in- from Friday afternoon through Sunday- no meetings, no class. Here, we were supposed to feed ourselves, but twice during my stay, they did not have the money for the house manager to shop for us. We were required to make our own lunches and dinners every day, and there wasn't even bread or milk in the house! Detox was not "comfortable" as there were literally people having seizures from lack of medical attention in the first 24-48 hours. One patient in particular, did not get any anti-seizure medication for three days (it was a three day holiday, and there were no outside staff with the exception of the "techs"). She began hallucinating on day two, and fell on the concrete, head first, seizing, on day three. She was rushed off in an ambulance, which by that day, I had seen several times. I am not exaggerating, an ambulance a day. They had "techs" administering our meds in detox, NOT NURSES. The techs were literally people off the street. My "tech" was using this room to have sex with one of the patients. This was a man who was supposed to come into our bedrooms at night and take our BP. He was in his late twenties and married, and the young patient was 19. I told my "counselor" who came on certain days, and he was fired. I was promised that there would be a medical staff in detox, and there was not. In fact, when I "saw" a doctor, it was via SKYPE. I also want to mention that this place did urinalysis 3 times a week, obviously unnecessary, and strange to me until I read that this is a common practice amongst fraudulent rehab centers. This was a scary, dangerous place- Knowing the state I was in, and the lack of control I had...Knowing I could have also had a seizure, and or a stroke at the levels of BP I was experiencing... It was traumatic. Please stay away.
