Wenninger Auto Sales Reviews (%countItem)

I bought a 2010 gmc acadia on 3/13/20. Didn't even drive 200 miles and the transmission started slipping. Took it to a mechanic to check it out on 3/25/20. He said the transmission was bad and it also had 11 different codes for computer things that were going to go out. He said the dealership must have cleared out the codes for a temporary fix to sell it. Had my stepfather call Wenninger Auto on 3/25/20 and they said there was nothing they could do. He said to call the 30 day warranty. That only covers $1500 minus $200 deductible. New transmission is over $3000 and the mechanic said with all the other codes for repairs it wasn't worth to fix it. I payed $8122.00 for a vehicle that I only could drive for a little over a week. I would like my money back.
Thank you

purchased a 2010 GMC Acadia on 3/13/20. The vehicle was sold for $7345.00 plus tax title and license. NADA retail value is $9250.00. That is a savings of $1905.00. NADA trade in value is $6625.00. That means to start, *** got this vehicle that is FULLY inspected AND includes a 3-month, 3,000-mile warranty for $720.00 more than trade in. This means that worst case scenario with the $1500 minus the $200 deductible from the warranty company and the $1905 savings, she is still $205 less than what the vehicle is worth after paying for a $3000 transmission. Upon purchase, it was disclosed as being sold AS-IS with a check engine light on for a cam position sensor. The entire Revdex.com claim she has made is misrepresented. She is accusing us of clearing a check engine light, yet it was disclosed in writing on a signed contract that it was sold with it on. The original sale price was $7495, and we discounted it $150 for the light being on. That proves that we did not clear any lights and that she knowingly accepted the light because of the discount. She also claimed that she contacted us with her issue and Wenninger auto sales did nothing. The first time anyone at Wenninger Auto Sales staff knew about her issue was once we received this Revdex.com letter which was several weeks later. After seeing the letter, I, the owner immediately called her and asked what was going on. After talking she said her stepdad (the mechanic who owns a shop) called the dealership to complain because she did not know anything about cars. I asked for his number and called him. Once talking to him he said he never called us, and that *** was the one to call. After playing several games of phone tag, they realized no one ever called the dealership about their so-called complaint. The told me they were going to remove their Revdex.com complaint after the conversation. To address the next issue, all our vehicles are fully inspected and do come with a 3 month/3,000-mile warranty. This warranty will cover up to $1500 for a motor or transmission. Our sales staff works on commission and are given no incentives unless the customer upgrades their service contract. Mike did offer them several other options for service contracts. These can be as simple as a powertrain contract all the way to bumper to bumper. These contracts start at 12 months/ 12,000 miles with roadside assistance for $499 all the way up to a 5 year/ 100,000-mile warranty for $2500. Other franchise dealerships sell this same 12/12 warranty for $2000 and the 5/100 for $5000. The 12/12 warranty would have covered up to $6,000 on a transmission and they turned it down. ALL our vehicles are fully inspected and in addition she had her mechanic (stepdad who owns a shop) come on the first day to look it over and he gave it the thumbs up. This is the same mechanic who allegedly told her that her transmission went out. They both test drove it and had zero concerns regarding a transmission or they would not have bought it. We also saw no issues with it, or it would not have been put out for sale. We are a very reputable dealership and have excellent ratings on every website imaginable. We take care of our client base very well. These are mechanical machines with thousands of moving parts. We go through them as best as we can, but things can happen. That is why warranties and service contracts are offered. It is unfortunate that ***had these issues however Wenninger Auto Sales could do nothing if we never knew there was an issue. The worst complaints are the ones you never hear. I told *** that if anything was to be done, she will have to come in with herself, her stepdad, our salesperson ***, and myself the owner to straighten this mess out. We watch out for our customers, however before anything can be done the correct story must be presented. We will be meeting with the customer this Friday upon MY request to sort this mess out.

one further thing that I would like to mention after digging into this situation more. The replacement transmission for this vehicle is only $400-600 for similar mileage for the part from several repair facilities. The labor calls for 18.8 hours. At $50 per hour for the labor rates of the shops in our area that puts here under $1500. That means she could have had her vehicles transmission replaced under the warranty without being money out of pocket. I dont know where she came up with $3000 plus for a transmission repair. The further I dig into this matter the more information I am finding to be skewed.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
iI was wrong on the price because I add in tax, title ect. the price was $7245. I never said anything about the check engine light on because yes they did discount that. I only said about the other codes that you only could see with an auto scanner. We did call dealership to complain but after getting nowhere with ***on the phone we just said whatever. *** the sales man never offered an extended warranty. We never said the transmission went out, we said it was going out, *** offered us $6000 to buy another car on his lot which we didn't think was fair since we didn't even drive it 200 miles. that would have been a loss of $1345, A replacement transmission is $1500 for a used one which I called on, not $400 - $600 like they say. Also labor rate is $100-$125 an hour not $50 like they say.

After meeting with *** on Friday 4-17 he offer us the extended warranty at his cost which we purchased. ***still claims he offered it to us. Mike is not a good sales man to be trusted,

*** was nice and resolved the issuse as best he could. I guess our issuse is resolved the best it can be.

Regards

In response to the previous response left by ***. Unfortunately matters like this are difficult to get to the truth without evidence. All the information being provided to you is backed up by pictures and attachments to show our honesty here at Wenninger Auto Sales. To make it clear once again, NO phone contact was made by *** until, myself the owner, *** Wenninger, called her after seeing a Revdex.com review. In addition, we examined our phone records and there is no contact the day after purchase until I contacted her. If *** has phone records to attach proving they attempted to make contact with us after purchase and before I made contact, I would be more than happy to see them and take the appropriate steps. The owner of *** Garage Inc. came to our premise per ***’s request to inspect the Acadia and gave it a clean bill of health and scanned the vehicle with his scan tool before purchase. The scan tool will go through the entire vehicle and check for codes on the motor, transmission, hvac, airbags, tpms, ect. The vehicle was thoroughly looked over by *** Garage and if it had transmission issues it would not have been purchased or would have been brought up before purchase. The owner of *** Garage even left us his business card which I have attached as well as proof that another independent shop inspected this vehicle before purchase. When *** met with us that Friday with her stepdad after my phone call with her, she said the transmission went out in 200 miles, yet she is still driving it to this day. On the day we met, she drove the Acadia here and at that time had 700 miles additional on it. We sold the vehicle with 125,853 on it. If it did have a bad transmission at 200 miles after purchase it should have only about 126,053 on the odometer. Using phrases such as “it is going out” is a very vague claim. Technically every wearable item on a vehicle is “going out” with 125, xxx miles on it. We have not had the vehicle in our shop since purchase and for all we know a simple transmission flush could resolve all this which we will happily do for FREE. In regard to the prices on the transmissions, I have attached several listings for transmissions with equivalent miles and phone numbers to verify that are around $400-$600 to once again speak our truth. If *** garage is quoting $1500 for a transmission they may have their own prerogatives. Also, our shop would install the transmission for $50 per hour as opposed to $100-$125 at *** garage to keeping her at the $1500 the initial warranty that is included would cover. We would happily replace her transmission for $1500 plus her $200 deductible. She will have to cover her deductible because she has had the vehicle for months now while STILL using it DAILY and putting miles on it. A good analogy of this is if you go to a restaurant and order a steak and are not happy with it you have two options. You can immediately send it back and say you are not satisfied or the second option, you can eat the steak. You cannot have the steak and eat it too without paying for it. I offered her money back for the vehicle minus her state fees and tax that went to the state. I deducted $1245 because she did have the vehicle for several months and put quite a bit more than the alleged 200 miles on it. This vehicle issue is a perfect example of this. It would have been one thing if she had it only a short time and 200 miles and her transmission snapped a belt and completely stopped. However, our first contact with her was months later through a Revdex.com complaint. She should have called immediately, and we would have worked with her. In this instance, she is continuing to drive her vehicle months later with an alleged transmission issue. In good faith, I upgraded her warranty at my cost so she could get a better warranty that would cover up to $3000 for a transmission even though we could complete the work under the initial warranty for $1500. After our conversation that day she told us she was going to remove her negative reviews because it was a misunderstanding on her end. Wenninger Auto sales is going above and beyond to keep our word regardless the circumstances and allegations made. Wenninger Auto Sales cannot be held liable for *** wanting to spend more money at another shop than we could do the work for. We are offering several options for *** and going above and beyond what an AS-IS vehicle is. Finally, our sales staff is thoroughly vetted before hire and professionally trained. They all work on commission and offer all the products we offer. I trust my sales staff and can back that up with proof just as I have provided proof debunking several alleged statements made about our facility. We apologize if she misunderstood the additional products offered to her and will make it simpler in the future for customers to understand the importance of each product we offer.
