This company did good work for me about 5 years ago, so we called them first when looking for help repairing a roof from hail damage. They gave us what appeared to be a good proposal and a good price. Another contractor I called raised concerns with our roof slant and skylights that we realized might also affect the Champion bid, so I brought that directly to Champion's attention. They came out numerous times to discuss the concerns I raised about the roof slope and flat skylights, and ASSURED us that wouldn't be a problem, and they their proposal was sound and would be fully warrantied. Weeks later, after the insurance company had approved their proposal and they had our down payment, I couldn't get them to tell me when the work would start. They sent their "sunroof expert" at that time (but not before?!) and then after two more calls from me asking them to confirm the work schedule, they informed me they can't warranty the work or do the work they proposed, because of the roof slope and flat skylights! They acted like this was surprise information, actually trying to explain to me why this would cause problems, even though I had raised that concern to them several times during the proposal process. The only consideration they gave me for defaulting on the contract at the last minute, was an explanation that should have been given weeks and weeks earlier when I first raised that concern to them...and THEY are supposedly the "experts".
