Review: I have been attempting to work with We Recover Data since December on recovering photos from a dropped HD I own. From the very start I was misinformed and treated poorly. Initially I requested the photos in a rush because I wanted to retrieve the photos from the HD for the purpose of my proposal to my fiancé. They said they would be able to do so in the time I requested. On their word, I personally rushed to a drop off location in Northern San Jose during work hours to ensure I get it there on time. Once received they did not respond so I called them only to find out the initial promised date would not be able to be met. I had to contact them after not hearing from them for a couple days. I committed to go with we recover data strictly based on the basis of their time line commitment, had I known this was not feasible I would have shopped around some more. After I was notified that they were not going to be able to meet the originally committed to date and time, I decided, for conveniences sake, to just continue with the recovery. I was then jumped around between multiple customer service reps for months, none of which we able to offer straight answers in regards to wrapping up the job. In fairness I was traveling a lot at the time and was in between PA's at the time so it was also difficult to reach me as well. But on multiple occasions I did not hear from them and would have to contact them in order to get an update as to what was going on and the status of the HD recovery. Once the recovery was complete they were awaiting a HD from me, in this time I had asked for some samples of the pictures so that I can confirm that the recovery was successful. They were hesitant to do so but eventually sent over some sample pictures which were in thumbnail/jpg format. I thought that this was done so that they could both email the pictures in a small size and attache multiple as well as to secure that I wasn't just taking the leaving them hanging with 3 samples! Which they states was a concern of theirs. Mind you at this point they have already charged me for services which were not complete. This in particular got me very concerned and upset, especially when they acted very unprofessional in email response times. I was beginning to think I got scammed with an online company, and looking back I feel that now again. At this point I filed a claim of false charges with BOFA, at which point they refunded the money temporarily to my account. Since then I mailed a HD which I have received back only to find the pictures I requested were all in thumbnail format and not the original format which was the whole purpose of the recovery. All photos are so small and in such low quality the serve no purpose. Since I have brought this to their attention they said it would require me to mail back the both the original drive as well as the hd I purchased. Seeing as how they have dealt with me thus far I refuse to give them another chance. They charged me prior to delivering the goods and services. Were hesitant to prove to me that the transfer was successful. Lacked follow up. Failed to meet any deadlines. Stated a discount would be given for the inconveniences incurred, which they did not apply. And FAILED TO COMPLETE OR DO THE JOB ALL TOGETHER after months of working with them. Since my last email I have yet to receive a response. Since this is simply not working and I have not received the data for which they committed to giving me it is not fair that I be charged for their services. THE END. This company is a scam. [redacted]Desired Settlement: Full Refund. I have not received the deliverables in a format acceptable.

I am sorry to hear that this client is unhappy with our services. Unfortunately, it appears that he is a bit confused as to some of the facts and the timeline of certain events, so I'd like to take a moment to clarify. This client approved a standard, free, 1 business day diagnostic. When he received the results of that diagnostic, he opted to approve a standard, estimated 5-7 business day recovery. We have several expedited and even emergency around the clock services available, however when the client selected the standard level recovery we proceeded in an attempt to recover as much of the client's data within that time frame as was technically possible. The recovery proved to be complex and did run over the estimated time frame, however we attempted to stay in touch with the customer via phone and e-mail, often finding him unavailable or unresponsive even when details were needed from him for us to further the recovery. On January [redacted], an e-mail with a list of recovered files was sent to the client, which specifically asked for files that we could test in order to make sure the client was getting the files that were necessary to consider the recovery successful. With no reply for nearly two months despite repeated calls, e-mails, and an abundance of patience, the results were deemed successful as per the terms of the contract he signed and the client was charged. All further delays in providing the results to this client stemmed from his specifically stating he wanted to provide us with a drive to return his recovered data on, and us not receiving any such drive until July [redacted], 2013, at which point his recovered data was prepped and shipped to him. During that period, when the client asked for the file list to be sent again or thumbnails of pictures to be sent to him, we complied. Despite any and all communication problems that have taken place we have offered, and continue to offer, that we will attempt to improve this client's recovery if he sends in the original media that we returned to him. As of yet, he has not complied.
Review: We had a SAN failure and needed data recovery from our hard drives. We paid we recover data 1000 dollars to evaluate our drives and provide us with a quote for recovery. Based off the evaluation, they gave us several different recovery options. 3 to 5 day, 7 to 9 day, and 11 to 15 days. Each recovery time estimation had a different price with the 3 to 5 day recovery being the most expensive. We selected the 3 to 5 day recovery for 18,500. They did not provide us our data for 16 days. I have asked them several times to refund us the difference between the 3 to 5 day recovery and the 11 to 15 day recovery since they did not provide us our recovered data for 16 days. They do not respond to any emails any further and closed out our case and continue to ignore us. They are basically ripping us off and telling us to deal with it.Desired Settlement: We would like to refunded the difference between the 3 to 5 day price to the 16 day price. The prices were based off time recovery and they should honor their time recovery prices. We paid 1000 dollars for them to estimate the recovery time, and they will not honor their prices.
