Werner Ladder

Review: As an experienced ladder user who takes safety seriously, I was surprised by the recent failure of my brand new Werner 24 foot extension ladder. The ladder broke apart and caused me to fall over 10 feet to my garage floor, sustaining injuries to myself and damages to my home, as the rivets in the top of the ladder were ripped free from the frame. I was inches away from landing headfirst on a broken window, and ended up with a broken toe and was very banged up physically and emotionally. That was before I started the journey of trying to speak to Werner about this issue.

After contacting [redacted] (retailer) and Werner immediately after the issue at the end of July, they had the ladder shipped back to Werner and initiated a claim. After many weeks have passed, I am now honestly concerned that the litigator for Werner; Mr. David S[redacted] is attempting to conceal the factual issues about the ladders failure. He has told me that he is not possession of the ladder, but the ladder was sent to him nearly 3 weeks ago. I have asked him not to destroy the ladder, but he will not respond. He keeps saying he will send a replacement ladder, but he has yet to do so. He had promised to resolve my claim by sending me a new ladder and fixing my property, but reneged on this offer which was probably just "smoke and mirrors".

Unlike Mr. S[redacted], I do not have a law degree being used to protect Werner. The ladder design is a HUGE issue for not only myself but the hundreds or thousands of consumers that purchase this model, and I wish that Werner and Mr. S[redacted] had a genuine concern for this. I'm concerned that Werner & Mr. S[redacted] are mis-handeling this issue, and I have already caught him lying, which I promptly contacted the BAR in his home state. I am now afraid that the ladder will be destroyed or tampered with (possibly as retaliation), as Mr. S[redacted] has done the same with my communications in which he attempts to twist the facts. I have never dealt with someone who is the consumers point of contact for injuries and damage that is so disrespectful. Now Werner has my ladder and will not return it and has blocked my email address from contact them.
