Review: ESB Bank merged or was bought by WesBanco. They sent letters stating effective 4/27, to please use your new WesBanco ATM card, and that it would not work until 4/27, to please use your ESB ATM card one until then.

Friday around 5:40pm on 4/24, I went to the [redacted]s Branch, and it would not take my ESB ATM card. I have a receipt even saying deposit must be made at your institution. The bank had even closed 3 hours early that day with no notice, so I could not even go inside to ask. I use this bank for my mortgage. The outside of the bank, has a new banner saying it is now WesBanco. I type in ESB Bank, it takes you to WesBanco. I called WesBanco, and they said sorry they could not help me. I was not a customer until 4/27. I then called ESB at [redacted], and mid way thru their VM, it does switch to WesBanco. I could not speak to a person, I left a message. No return phone call from them.

I went to the [redacted] Branch on Saturday 4/28 at 6:25 to try their machine. This is the branch I opened my mortgage at. The building still says ESB Bank. Same message though at the ATM when I put my card in. I have a receipt. My mortgage is due, I have wasted 2 trips to the bank to put money in so that my mortgage payment would be withdrawn, and I can not put any money into my account. No access to my account at all. This is going to take a 3rd trip to the bank, during banking hours, which will require me to take time off to do so to see how I can pay my mortgage, which now will be late. Why sent communication to the customers saying one thing, and then do another? If they had sent communication saying you can't use your account from April 24 to April 27 - then so be it....or is that against the law? Locking a users bank account for 3 days? So they did it anyway, and will ask for forgiveness after?Desired Settlement: I want an explanation. Lets not even get to the stress and aggravation, plus time off to fix something that should have never had this type of outcome. All I am trying to do is pay my mortgage. Put money into a bank account. Why is this so hard?

Dear Ms. [redacted]:This letter is in response to complaint reference number [redacted], dated April 27, 2015. The complainant claims that she attempted to make a deposit to her checking account at an ESB ATM on April 24th and was unable to do so. She also is upset that the ESB Banking Centers were closed early that same day, so she was unable to receive assistance. She would like an explanation of why she was not able to utilize these ATMs to make a deposit to her checking account.WesBanco Bank, Inc. (the “Bank”) acquired ESB Bank on February 10, 2015. After the acquisition, the Bank provided ESB customers with various account notices, in accordance with regulatory timeframes, as well as, posted notices at the ESB banking centers around April 7th providing information related to the restricted hours of operation during the conversion to WesBanco beginning on April 24th. The Bank began the account, banking center and ATM conversion process at 3:00 PM on April 24th and completed the conversion in time for the Bank to reopen for normal business hours on April 25th.As the complainant indicated, she had received a notice concerning her ESB debit card. As she claims, the notice informed her that she would continue to use her ESB debit card until April 27, 2015, at which time she would begin to use her WesBanco Money Card. The notice also informed her that during this transition period she would have limited access to her account and technical issues may arise that could affect the authorization process when using a debit card. While we did not experience any technical issues with the ATM conversion, as part of the conversion, a number of older model ESB ATMs were upgraded to new ATMs. As an ATM was replaced, a notice would be placed on it informing customers that deposits at these ATMs were restricted until April 27, 2015.The Bank had made a reasonable attempt to ensure ESB customers would be aware of the early banking center closures and ATM deposit restrictions. It is unfortunate that the complainant experienced some difficulties during the conversion period.

Review: ESB bank who I had a car loan with, is saying I have an out standing balance. I called [redacted], at loan office who I dealt with in past about loan###-###-####. She said I know the loan is paid off and you have title. but you must file complaint, I said that why I called. She said that's the way it's handled! She said if it's to buy a car , I said no I have a new car. It's about my credit.Desired Settlement: please fix account, and report!

ESB Bank has taken action to rectify the issue and the consumer has been provided with supporting documentation with respect to the action taken. Furthermore, the consumer has also been provided with contact information for supervisory personnel in the appropriate department should additional questions arise. Review: I did not know that my checking account was negative. I brought in a 100 check. It was all the money I had they took it and said you are still negative. My husband passed away. I called the main office and said close my account. They transferred me to the beechview office. I told them to close the account. I do not have any money. They said I need to come in and close it. I do not drive and have bad vision. Now twice a week I receive bounced fees that are over 500 dollars now. U should not keep getting overdraft fees. I understand I should pay the negative amount from the first time.but I cannot afford the other negative fees they keep adding on...What can I do to resolve this matter? Thank you [redacted]Desired Settlement: Please take the overdraft fees that. Keep adding up. If needed I will pay the necessary amount from the first bounced fee. I do not want this going on my credit.

29, 2014 reflecting subject identification number. In keeping with your request,

we will not include any information that personally identifies our customer.

We have addressed our customer’s concerns and complaint with the branch

bank office maintaining her account. Her request relative to fee refunds will

fully be met to allow account closure. In addition, she has been assured that the

account activity and this resolution will have no bearing on her credit status.

In addition, we have directly sent this information in a separate letter to her.
