October 2, 2015
On September 15th, 2015 [redacted], husband of' [redacted] (lessee) called me expressing that the door of the Banquet Hall was not opened on time...

for their contracted event of Saturday, September 5,2015, and that he needed some compensation for the lost time. I expressed my regret for that happening and told him that my manager ran into high traffic due to an accident that occurred the morning of September 5. My manager told me that he got to the door at about 12:22 PM, but [redacted] said it was 12:32 PM. Well I did not argue with him about that. This contract time for this scheduled of September 5,2015 was 12:00PM - 12:00 AM, and it is our responsibility contractually to ensure the hall is accessible during scheduled contract time. However, during my discussion with [redacted] on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, I expressed our regrets in which caused this unfortunate, yet short delay, I further asked [redacted] what a fair compensation would be for him and he said, at least $200-$250 and I told him that since we are mailing refund I will talk to my partner about it and get back to him by Friday. On that same day, I discussed the matter with my partner and agreed to issue a check in the amount of $200.00 (copy enclosed) and it was mailed to the client the same day. (We had already mailed back their $500.00 security deposit check on September 10th, 2015. (Please, see attached letter and voided check,)On Thursday September 17, 2015, [redacted] called again and asked me what we had done and I told him that we mailed a $200.00 check on Tuesday, September 15. Then, [redacted] said it should have been at least $250-$300. At that point I told him that I went with what was said in the first place and he argued that he did not say $200. He further said that he said at least $250.00. I asked him whether he was implying that I was lying and he said I probably did not understand him. I firmly told [redacted] that I am a man of great integrity and if he thinks that he did not mention at least $200 compensation, let him give me a number and I will put the check in the mail now and he said, “at least $300.” An extra $100 was mailed to the client the same day (copy enclosed).[redacted] called the next day, which was Friday September 18, 2015 and told me not to worry about anything as we shall hear from her Lawyer,I believe the couple got angry that they came to hall as early 09:00AM on the morning of the scheduled event (prior to their contracted time) and the doors of hall were not opened and they kept checking back until the door was opened at least as late as 12:22 PM, after mid-day. I saw the expression from their note which stated that "...however whenever we arrived at the hall no one was at the hall until 12:32 ”.  If we prorate the time it will be less than the $300 we have already sent out to them. The two checks totaling $300 ($200 + $100) were issued, and to date are not yet cashed, but we shall void them after 10 business days from today’s date if still not cashed. We appreciated them and their business at every level of our discussion and we want this case to come to rest by them honoring the checks within 10 business days.Respectfully Submitted,
