Please understand that late fees exist in credit cards, home loans, personal loans and so forthIt is a common business practice when dealing with loansLate fees are typically set up to help a company with the extra labor and office expenses included in making payment arrangements and doing the paperwork for the arrangements or in collection costsThe late fee charged, as per the agreement, is not an unusual business practiceAnd I do not feel that our company is out of line in charging the $for a late fee

The late fee charged, as per the agreement, is not an unusual business practiceAnd I do not feel that our company is out of line in charging the $for a late fee

I am rejecting this response because: regardless they should have waived the fee due to him not reminding me there is a late charge from the beginning he waited till the day of the to tell me I only had the amount I was told to have from the 6th of the month contract or none he should have stayed also add late fee when you call us to make payment he did not do soUnroll the day I had the payment I had to call and borrow the extra

1st payment is due. At this time we explain the options of payment, due date, the grace period and late fees (also stipulated on her signed contract at the time of purchasing the vehicle).
Ms. [redacted] has made most of her payments on time. However, her December 28th payment was not received until January 27, 2016. If payment was received in a closer proximity to her due date, we would have be willing to work with her on the late fee of $12.52 (5% of her monthly payment - as per her signed contract). However, it was not received until  30 days past the due date.
When Ms. [redacted] stated that she signed the purchase agreement over 1 year ago and was not able to locate the contract, we offered to send her a copy of the original contract for review. However, Ms. [redacted] stated she did not want the contract copy. And only wanted the late fee removed.
I feel that we have done our best to explain and to assist Ms. [redacted] as a valued customer. Please contact Eric or I,  via email, if you require any other information or would like to discuss this matter further.
Ms. [redacted] remains a valued customer of ours.
Sincerely,

Review: I been paying my car note on time every month I called January 6th 2016.spoke to rep asked if I could pay late having issues. He said he will give me till Jan. 275th I said ok . I called to make payment and guy (erick) says you need to pay late charge mind you I borrowed this money for the exact amount they never told me about late payment. He continues to tell talk over me while I try to explain I was unaware I've always paid on time and I was not informed of this when I called he continued to tell I said I'm valued customer I call I never had anyone speak to me the way you are I simply said that they need to remind customers of this if this is so. He stated he was the boss the owner. His voice was loud and agressive and instead of listening he tells says are you gonna pay or not give me your information. That is not how you talk to customer who's paid for 2 yrs on time and her vehicle will be paid off in a couple months she's stressed she didn't have enough she was only told to pay regular payment. If he is the owner he has no right to speak to anyone in that time or matter.Desired Settlement: Please have them remove late fee since I was not informed and I've always been on time so I was unaware of it and even if they say it's in my contract I don't remember I been paying on time for 2 yrs to even know there's late charge.
