I am rejecting this response because:This answer is unsound and inaccurateThe California Bureau of Automotive Repair has documented the damage caused by you and your shopMy interior is permanently damaged and several parts will need to be replaced to restore the vehicle to the condition it was before it was neglected by West Coast CollisionThe engine compartment, air cleaner and several other components are damaged due to poor workmanship and quality control

Mr***,
I am not sure what your
end game is hereDo you just want a $check? Can you explain what engine
damage was incurred due to supposed over spray? You have never given me the
opportunity to even see the issues you are complaining aboutDon't you think
that should have been the first step? Instead you chose to have your friends
defame me and my business on Yelp and other review sitesYou may want to let
them know that I am actively searching for their information as they are in
violation of not just the review sites terms of service but California law
Is your intention to actually bankrupt me over a poor bumper fit that
YOUR insurance company wrote in their estimate? I am happy to take care of any
issues that your insurance company has not already admitted to being their
fault due to writing for inferior partsIf you would just return my calls I
would be happy to discuss whatever complaints you haveKeep in mind I am in no
way offering to write you a check for an embellished estimate or repairs that
YOUR insurance company has already admitted fault in and repaired at their
additional cost. If you can provide an estimate to rectify damages not
already covered by your insurance company due to their inferior parts, we can
discuss a settlement

When Mr. [redacted] picked up his vehicle I pointed out that the plastic bumper cap was wavy. I explained to him that his insurance company had written the estimate for a used bumper. I ordered the bumper from the vendor that they listed on the estimate. I called the vendor and they said that the bumper...

would lay out and be flat after it was in the sun for a week or so. I explained that to Mr. [redacted] and told him that if it did not lay out to return and I would install a new OEM bumper cap and bill his insurance company. That is standard protocol in these situations when an insurance company writes for used or aftermarket parts. That was the same situation for the peeling paint in the hood. Our paint was not peeling it was peeling from the original paint that we painted over. I showed Mr. [redacted] the red color (the original color of that used hood) and that the red paint was separating from original factory primer. I explained to him that I did not believe that the bumper was going to lay out anyway so when he returned for that repair that I would also rebill the insurance to completely strip the old paint and respray so the peeling would not be an issue again. He agreed with this resolution at that time. There was a part that was inadvertently left off of the vehicle. My technician had removed it and forgot to reinstall. I do have the invoices from that vendor to prove that the part was purchased before the vehicle was delivered to support the fact that there was no attempt to defraud the insurance company or the customer. I have since taken that part to the shop that Mr. [redacted] has selected to do the warranty repairs. His insurance company is paying for the warranty repairs, since it was their parts that are failing. The new shop has agreed to install it for me since Mr. [redacted] has decided to not return to give me an opportunity to rectify the problems as we had discussed. He has never given me an opportunity to even see, let alone rectify the other issues. I would be happy to review those issues with him and if there is something that we have done incorrectly I am happy to take care of those issues. I would have been happy to address all of Mr. [redacted]’s concerns upon his return. Unfortunately the only time that I have heard from him is when he came to my office, Handed me an estimate from a shop for nearly $3100 and demanded payment. At that time I reminded him that those were parts that his insurance company wrote for and that we had already discussed what our recourse was. He stated that it was not their problem, it was our poor workmanship, and demanded a check or he would sue me. Obviously that is not the proper way to handle these issues and I asked him to return the truck so I could inspect it and address his concerns. At that point he stated that he would see me in court and walked out. His insurance company has come to my office and audited my file and verified that I did repair the vehicle as per the estimate of record and used their vendors that were listed. As of last week the vehicle was at Hamblin Paint and Body having all of the issues repaired with OEM parts. Since Mr. [redacted] is having all of his concerns taken care of by his insurance company, I am not sure what he is looking for me to pay for. One of the items that Mr. [redacted] claimed as part of his front end collision was that his fuel filler door would not stay closed on the rear of the vehicle. The insurance company denied that as part of the loss. I had purchased the fuel door as a courtesy and was going to replace it for customer service at no charge. I have an invoice for that also to prove that was my intent prior to any complaints being filed. With that said, I would say that it is obvious I would have taken care of any issues that Mr. [redacted] had. I would be happy to rectify any remaining issues that the insurance company did not find was due to their defective parts.  He simply never gave me the chance, but instead began his campaign against me, including having 11 friends and family post extremely negative Yelp reviews, some of which referred to his truck, some of which falsified that they had received service at my business- all of which are explicitly against the Yelp policy for posting.  Yelp has since taken down eight of the false reviews. Two people removed their own reviews after they were notified of possible legal action due to their fraudulent claims.  Only one fraudulent post remains online. Please let me know if there is anything else I need to do to help rectify the situation. Thank you!
