Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: In Response to Jason B [redacted] of West Coast Construction and Equipment I feel it is important to respond to MrB [redacted] s comments individually to provide as much detail and clarity as needed I did agree to standard terms of 50% down and 50% upon completion of work However while Jason was on vacation his sales associate Patrick called me repeated demanding full payment while over 50% of the work was not completed During this time I tried to contact Jason but he did not take my phone calls for weeks Both Patrick and Jason always seemed to be focused on “more important or bigger projects” the work they were doing for me was always rushed, messy, and incomplete Jason stated that my concerns were based on lack of knowledge which is ridiculous I had several licensed contractors including officers of the Oregon Contractors Board review his work All agreed it was shoddy and incomplete Jason comments that he has been doing this work for years It would be a basic assumption that he would know poor work when he sees it For example, why would such an experienced contractor use standard sheet metal to support door mounts Was he unaware that this would corrode when condensation forms near a refrigerator door? In fact, when Jason was onsite he did communicate disappointment in his employees work and had his workers return to try and complete unfinished work They failed at this task Unfortunately Jason supplied mostly excuses and reasons to delay any further repair He said rubber gaskets needed to have time to relax and fill in huge gaps in the doors The doors that were installed and the source of many problems were not used but were custom made by Jason and his employees Jason is correct in stating that his company was very busy with several jobs during the construction of my Walk-in During this busy time Jason still found time to leave town and I was forced to deal with Patrick Neither Jason nor Patrick came to the construction site until work was “complete” and I had issued complaints In regards to the Freezer unit it is important to know that we did not have need to run the freezer for several months after the installation It was not until this time that serious leaking occurred and remains on all walls of the freezer Huge amounts of ice have built up around the doors due to the fact that the door frame heater unit, which I never witnessed installed, has never worked I would image that water damaged has and will continue to occur on the wood frame structure as well as the insulation of this unit due to the poor work of West Coast Construction and Equipment Jason B [redacted] is correct again in stating that I did purchase used wall structures However he failed to mention that his company did build the doors As with any major purchase I assumed the end product would function as intended and the workmanship of the contractor would be to industry standards As a small business man I have always stood by my word, my work, and my products Jason B [redacted] has not done the same in this instance I have include a sample photo that illustrate the issues stated above Due to the limitations of the Revdex.com website I was not able to load additional photos Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: ***In Response
My understanding is that "Delivery" means product delivered and completed Why would anyone agree to pay in full tens of thousands of dollars for work that is not even begun That makes no sense and I did not agree to those terms
I did attempt to reach Jason regarding the poorly installed door gaskets on the custom doors He did not respond It is true I also texted him about the door heater that has not and is still not working He told me it was "not his problem"
Dealing with Pat was a horrible experience but a moot point as this time I am more interested in having a properly functioning system
I would be willing to have Jason come on site to repair the door gaskets, freezer door heater, replace the corroded door supports, and door plungers At that time Jason can also suggests actions to be taken by him to stop the unit from leaking out the walls I will await his response before pursuing other options
Sincerely,*** ***

*** *** of *** *** did indeed make a purchase from our company around the time he claims
*** purchases a “USED” walk in cooler/freezer combo with all new mechanical systemsAt the time of purchase *** agreed to certain payment terms which he later did not want to fulfillMy
office did not badger him regarding payment he was asked to comply with what he had agreed to
During the course of the project *** did contact me with questions and concerns and I met *** onsite to address those concernsMost concerns were based on a lack of knowledge on *** part which is not uncommon as he is in the fish business, not the cold storage businessI on the other hand have more than years of experience installing walk in coolersMy company installs walk ins all over the Northwest and have a great many satisfied customers
We were very busy at the time we installed *** use walk in and there were details that needed to be addressed when my crew moved on to another jobI personally made several visits to the job site to button up those details which among other things included adjusting doors so that they opened and closed properly, sealing places in the walk ins that I felt needed more attention and so onWhen I was done there everything was up to what I would call industry standard for used equipment and functioning as intendedPrior to leaving I walked the entire job with *** and showed him everything I had done and showed him that everything was working correctly which he did acknowledgeDuring this particular visit *** even inquired about the availability of some other used equipment we was interested in
After my last visit to *** *** I did not hear anything from *** until November, at which time he sent a picture to my cell phone of some ice on one of the freezer door framesHe asked if there were heaters in the door frames to which I replied that there were and that why there wasn’t any ice on them previouslyAt that time *** asked that we warranty the door heater which I told him we would not doI explained to him that we are not responsible for a part we did not manufacture or that we cannot make a warranty claim on with the manufacturerIn addition I reminded him that he did purchase a “USED” walk in cooler/freezer combo and like a used car they do not come with a warranty

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
In Response to Jason B[redacted] of West Coast Construction and Equipment.

I feel it is important to respond to Mr. B[redacted]s comments individually to provide as much detail and clarity as needed.
I did agree to standard terms of 50% down and 50% upon completion of work.  However while Jason was on vacation his sales associate Patrick called me repeated demanding full payment while over 50% of the work was not completed.  During this time I tried to contact Jason but he did not take my phone calls for weeks.  Both Patrick and Jason always seemed to be focused on “more important or bigger projects” the work they were doing for me was always rushed, messy, and incomplete.
Jason stated that my concerns were based on lack of knowledge which is ridiculous.  I had several licensed contractors including officers of the Oregon Contractors Board review his work.  All agreed it was shoddy and incomplete.  Jason comments that he has been doing this work for 20 years.  It would be a basic assumption that he would know poor work when he sees it.  For example, why would such an experienced contractor use standard sheet metal to support door mounts.  Was he unaware that this would corrode when condensation forms near a refrigerator door?  In fact, when Jason was onsite he did communicate disappointment in his employees work and had his workers return to try and complete unfinished work.  They failed at this task.  Unfortunately Jason supplied mostly excuses and reasons to delay any further repair.  He said rubber gaskets needed to have time to relax and fill in huge gaps in the doors.  The doors that were installed and the source of many problems were not used but were custom made by Jason and his employees.
Jason is correct in stating that his company was very busy with several jobs during the construction of my Walk-in.  During this busy time Jason still found time to leave town and I was forced to deal with Patrick.  Neither Jason nor Patrick came to the construction site until work was “complete” and I had issued complaints.
In regards to the Freezer unit it is important to know that we did not have need to run the freezer for several months after the installation.  It was not until this time that serious leaking occurred and remains on all walls of the freezer.  Huge amounts of ice have built up around the doors due to the fact that the door frame heater unit, which I never witnessed installed, has never worked.  I would image that water damaged has and will continue to occur on the wood frame structure as well as the insulation of this unit due to the poor work of West Coast Construction and Equipment.
Jason B[redacted] is correct again in stating that I did purchase used wall structures.  However he failed to mention that his company did build the doors.  As with any major purchase I assumed the end product would function as intended and the workmanship of the contractor would be to industry standards.
As a small business man I have always stood by my word, my work, and my products.  Jason B[redacted] has not done the same in this instance.
I have include a sample photo that illustrate the issues stated above.  Due to the limitations of the Revdex.com website I was not able to load additional photos.
Sincerely,[redacted]

I will start this response by saying read my previous responses.

Now in direct response to Mr. [redacted] most recent message which I have copied and pasted below.

1. My understanding is that "Delivery" means product delivered and completed.  Why would anyone agree to pay in full tens of thousands of dollars for work that is not even begun.  That makes no sense and I did not agree to those terms.
I’m not sure how anyone would think that “Delivery” means product delivered and completed… Most people I encounter understand what delivery means. Below is the definition of delivery as shown in the Mirriam-Webster Dictionary. [redacted] did agree to this at the time of order and it is clearly printed on his invoice.
Simple Definition of delivery
: the act of taking something to a person or place
: something that is taken to a person or place : something that is delivered
: the act or process of giving birth

2. I did attempt to reach Jason regarding the poorly installed door gaskets on the custom doors.  He did not respond.  It is true I also texted him about the door heater that has not and is still not working.  He told me it was "not his problem"
[redacted] did in fact reach out to me as stated regarding door gaskets but is untruthful in saying I did not respond. We had conversations about door gaskets and other things. I was even at his place of business more than once. Please see my previous replies for more detail.

3.  Dealing with Pat was a horrible experience but a moot point as this time.  I am more interested in having a properly functioning system.
Pat had similar things to say about dealing with [redacted] but this too is a moot point at this time.

4. I would be willing to have Jason come on site to repair the door gaskets, freezer door heater, replace the corroded door supports, and door plungers.  At that time Jason can also suggests actions to be taken by him to stop the unit from leaking out the walls.  I will await his response before pursuing other options.
I offered in my last response to come by [redacted] place for a meeting to look at things and make sure everything is in good working order. His response as listed by the Revdex.com was to reject my efforts to resolve this issue. Yet in his closing statement here he is stating something to the contrary. It would seem that he is more interested in arguing about definitions, details and the performance of a salesman who is no longer here as demonstrated above than he is about resolving anything. If [redacted] would like to stop with the petty arguing and get real about resolution my offer is still on the table.
