PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR BOAT HERE!! All that I ASKED for and signed a contract for was a basic service (oil change, spark plugs, ect. ect.). The boat was running Tuesday when I brought it in even though a week prior I had to give it a couple extra pulls to start it. When I dropped it off management told me they would most likely have the service done Thursday. Thursday comes around and it is 2 hours before closing time and I haven't been updated at all about the boat. I call them and get a rude lady that tells me that they have done the service that I asked for but the boat NOW DOESN'T run and they have the carburetor apart on the table looking at it. I ask to speak to a shop mechanic to try to get a better understanding of why they are looking at the carb and what is going on but she says that they are too busy to talk to me right now. So I told her I would call tomorrow to see what is going on. I called first thing the next day and was told that since it NOW doesn't run they are looking at it and think it is the carburetor so they are washing it. Additional pricing or service fees were not brought up or discussed prior to pulling apart the carburetor and starting to "look at it" so I assumed that since it now doesn't run they would look at it and give me a price quote. After not hearing from them for the rest of the day I went in because I wanted to see what was going on after getting a tip from a co-worker that [redacted] (the manager) has scammed people before. He showed me the carburetor and tried to tell me someone was sabotaging the carb and had taken a part out of it. He showed me an empty hole that a "plug" was forced out of but, little did I know it was actually where the overflow for the carb comes out of. He tried to say that since they (coincidentally) don't make the part it would be $500 to replace the whole carb, labor not included. I didn't believe him and told him I wanted my boat back. I went to pay for the service that I agreed and CONTRACTED to him but was charged more for when they pulled apart the carb and looked at it without me knowing first. After getting into an argument with him, [redacted] agreed to drop the additional charges.

I took my boat to Boatmasters in Livermore where they have not found any problem with it and were able to get it to start up every time on the first pull and keep it running for 15 min while they supervised the engine. They said there is no problem with the engine and that it runs quite well.

[redacted] is a scam and will try to take more of your money for so called "problems".
