West Enterprise

I hired Cory West with West Enterprises to build me a roof onto the back deck (8X10)of my single wide mobile home. He never mentioned needing a permit first of all. I called down to the *** building Insptn and spoke to *** and he advised me to come that day to get the permit and he would send an inspector out to look at my roof Monday, July 13. Well, the county inspector came out to inspect it and it failed the inspection. So much is wrong with the frame and tin roof. First it is out of square, second he attached the roof to my mobile home and code doesn't allow that, must be free standing on post concreted into the ground. Third he put 7 holes in my tin by missing the screws into the 2X4's and fourth he did not double the outside 2X6 frame boards and the fifth he failed to attach joist hangers. Six he only has one main beam coming down the center of the roof. He refused to replace my tin roof and after telling him my roof frame is not squared he said that was due to my mobile home being off, which is not true. I have had 2 licensed contractors come out to give me an estimate to rebuild it correctly and to code. Each licensed contractors agreed with what all is wrong. I have paid him $400 to cover materials (tin and screws) and supplies (wood) and I owed him a balance of $248.95 and he put in a text for me to keep that balance and he would come fix the roof screws and caulk the holes he made in my tin, however I told him I was keeping the $248.95 and I did not want him repairing the tin. I didn't buy brand new custom ordered tin for him to put holes in it. He refused to give me back my $400 that I had paid him for such poor work cause he said there was nothing wrong with his work and that I was nick picking everything just cause I didn't like how he did the work. He is un-licensed by the state. This is my first time adding anything onto a home I have owned. I also filed a complaint with the DOPR on 7/13 per request from Mr. with the *** building Insp Offie
