Review: Abuse of power:Yesterday, my wife was unnecessarily towed from the parking lot she has parked in for work for the last four years. The lot she parks in is split between 2 landlords not there is no signs distinguishing between the "2 sides". At first the driver told her she was towed for parked on a street a block away (and the slip lists her on the street). After many witnesses confirmed she was in the lot, the driver then told her she was parked on the wrong property owners side. 1 property owner even confirmed she was in the correct spot and that he may have security camera footage confirming it. The driver told her that if she can get surveillance proof, he MAY consider refunding the tow fee.Several other people in her office have been unnecessarily towed and complained as well but nothing has come of it. They have unilateral power with apparently no consequence for wrongful action. In this case, the driver obviously made a mistake and was too proud to admit it. He also told my wife that she has been towed other times but refused to provide evidence of this (because it was untrue, she had never been towed before).Desired Settlement: Refund of tow fee

Review: I had my 1999 [redacted] towed by West Hartford Auto Center on 6/4/15 for having parked in a parking area on the corner of [redacted] and [redacted]. I promptly called [redacted] and spoke with a officer [redacted] who told me the car was at West Hartford Auto Center. I was provided with the following number [redacted] which I called and was informed of where the vehicle was. I went to their location to retrieve the vehicle and was met by one of their drivers named [redacted]. I had questions regarding the tow given the nature of the car being A) Lowered and B) Four Wheel Drive and wanted to make sure things were done correctly. [redacted] arrived after me in a non flatbed style tow vehicle. I was promptly assured that the vehicle was towed correctly and that "dollies" were used as to not damage the four wheel drive system of the vehicle. I kindly asked for proof and was told that it was indicated on the receipt that I didn't receive. I further asked that if there was damage to the vehicle what my course of action would be. I was assured again by [redacted] there would be no damage and if there was it would be due to the vehicles age and he has been doing this for years and if I were to bring it to the owners attention I would be told "To go F myself". I was also told that there was video of the car being received at their location and I could gladly see it but would have to come back tomorrow. I asked on the off hand chance if I could see it that night and was told no. There was a delay period in retrieving the car due to it being a "Cash Only" transaction and having to wait for friends to get money while I stay by my vehicle. I pursued the issue further with [redacted] and I wasn't given a concrete answer. [redacted] rather than try to confront the situation deviated from it or avoided the possibility of fault on his end. Upon getting the vehicle and pulling it outside of their lot I noticed that there was damage to the front bumper of the car. The bumper was popping out from both sides. I addressed this with [redacted]. I also asked [redacted] who he reported to and how to get in contact with them if need be tomorrow. [redacted] then proceeded to inform me that he was in fact the owner of the establishment. I asked if he were to tell me to "Go F Myself" if I brought these issues up with him. [redacted] proceeded to look at the car and blame some prior damage to the vehicle on the passenger fender and bumper as to knocking the entire bumper out of alignment with the body of the vehicle. He also made note of damage to the wheel well liners of the vehicle that was non existent. I was offered for by [redacted] for the vehicle to come back tomorrow and be put on the lift for inspection and polite fully declined.Desired Settlement: I would like for the damages to the vehicle to be fixed and a refund for the tow.

Review: I park in the lot every day for the past nine months without any issues. On June 10th at 7:50pm my car was illegally towed. My job pays for the monthly fee. One is allowed to park in the lot without the attends knowing who you are or recognizing your vehicle in morning. In order to park there you must fill out a form with the make and model of the vehicle, along with the license plate. The tow truck driver stated he didn't see my parking tag. He also didn't verify my plates to ensure that I can park there, which is required. I work from 11am to 8pm and my vehicle was towed 10 minutes before my shift ended. On the forum that the tow company provided stated he received a call to tow the vehicle. Which is an untruth. I am asking for help regarding because the proper protocol was not followed.Desired Settlement: $113 for an illegal tow.
