Review: After negotiating in good faith with this dealer, I purchased a used car for the agreed upon price. The representatives of the dealer presented themselves are knowledgeable and courteous, and the car was purchased "AS IS." I understand that the condition of the car became my responsibility upon completion of the sale; however, the dealer informed me that the engine in vehicle has to be replaced. The vehicle was purchased for $5000. 5 weeks later, I paid the dealer $800 to replace the catalytic convertor. The dealer's estimate to replace the engine is $2500. It is hard to believe that the dealer was not aware of this when he sold me the car in June.Desired Settlement: I had requested of the dealer that he either repair the car without charge; or buy back the car. He emphasized that I bought the car "AS IS", and that he has no reponsibility to do either. I would like the engine replaced without charge, or for him to buy back the car.
