RE: Reply to Complaint *** *** ***Date: 1-1-2018It amazes me how one sided a story can be when presented from the consumers sideI would like to say that I have been in the business for years now and I founded the business West Penn Windows & Doors because I was fed up with the
shoddy work and un satisfied customers I ran into as a manufactures rep for Thermal Windows and Doors located in Murrysvillle, PaIn West Penn did almost million dollars in business and have a star rating on Home Advisor, Facebook and on our website from satisfied customersOur number one goal is customer satisfaction and understand that the best lead one can get is from word of mouthWith that being said I have many times done things for customers that I know 90% of other contractors don't do, and I do it to keep happy customersFor whatever reason, it seems as if no matter what is done for these people that they are just going to keep expecting moreThere are flat out lies in their complaint that need addressed beginning with the last statement in her Complaint Summary where she states the hardware is not covered by a warranty.I have included a copy of the hardware that was bought from another of my window suppliers and was used on the windows at their homeThe hardware warranty is covered by the manufacture of the hardware, not the maker of the windowI paid $to make this change and never passed along this cost to the customerI did inform them that a patio door handle was not available in ANTIQUE BRASS FINISH and offered them a Mocha finish (which I sent along for you to see) and told them I thought it would blend in very well with the oak color on the patio doorThey did not like that option and I did tell them I could do one in Antique BrassI used the Mocha handle and sanded the finish down to bare metalI then primed the new handleI sprayed it Antique Brass, then buffed it again and de glossed it and sprayed it againI did this process more times and then installed the handleThis is the process that the supplier of the door handles follows also to offer different colorsThey may use a baked on finish as a final step, but not sure of thatNine months later I am informed that it is starting to chipCould it be the diamond rings she wears? I'm not sure the original finish would hold up to thatI told her that I sprayed the handle and that is when she started sending me text messages that were not too friendly and at that point I told her she would have to find one on her own because it was obviously anything I tried to do would not satisfy her.I have sent along a copy of the original contract and there is NO mention of Antique brass hardware anywhereI went the extra mile for these people and am now being slammed for my effortsThey got Antique brass hardware ( she did make the mistake in the complaint and said she wanted an oil rubbed bronze finish handle replacement) and I did the best I could do with these people. One other inconsistency I would like to address is she mentioned that they had an electrical issue that needed to be addressed by an outside electricianBecause of their concerns I got a certified licensed electrician from the area to come and look everything over and be sure it was correctI personally helped him pull a new wire for an electric baseboard heater and hook it upI paid for this to be done and never even thought of asking them to pay anything for his servicesAs I mentioned I wantcustomers to be satisfied. These people got their loan through one of my lending companies and were supposed to do the windows and a bathroomThe loan costs were well over $2,which of course I ateThey made me give them the balance of the loan back( $7,)because they were concerned about the electrical work ( which I had inspected and fixed ) They said they didn't feel comfortable not being able to be there to oversee everything we didBecause of them backing out on the bathroom and me having to give back the balance of the loan, I actually lost money on this jobWhen I told them the loan costs were $I was told “too bad”It became clear to me that these were not the kind of people I wanted to or needed to deal with at this point in my career and walked away knowing I did everything I could to make these people happy unfortunately to no avail.I have included a copy of the contract, a copy of the invoice to switch the hardware to Antique brass and a picture of an option of a door handle and a swatch of the color.Thank YouRobert “ Jake” F*West Penn Windows & Doors

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
To: Revdex.comRE: Complaint ID [redacted]This is in response to the statement given by Mr. F[redacted]It is apparent that West Penn Windows has no intention of warranting their services. So, let me respond to the statements provided by Mr. F[redacted]When we requested a different finish on the hardware Mr. F[redacted] stated that he could get the hardware in the finish we desired. We were never informed that he was making changes to the hardware himself by spray painting. And we were never informed that his work would not be warranted. In the matter of the electrical issues. After the work in the dining room was "completed" we informed Mr. F[redacted] that the electric heat was not connected. We went TWO WEEKS in February without heat in our dining room before his crew came to connect the heater. We arrived home that day to find the electric baseboard heater running without being connected to a thermostat. The only way to turn it off was to turn off the breaker. When told of this Mr. F[redacted] stated that he would fix it. His "fix" was to install another thermostat on an outside wall and connect the heater to it. Keep in mind that the original thermostat was still on the interior wall. But they could not find a way to connect it even though they disconnected the heater and the location was not changed. We informed him that we wanted another electrician to correct the issue because at that time we did not trust his work. The day before the electrician was to arrive Mr. F[redacted] informed us that he could not show up that day because he was 89 years old and we were to get snow that day but he was attempting to locate another electrician to complete the work. At that point we informed Mr. F[redacted] of the electrician that we wanted to perform the work. The electrician that we mentioned did do the corrections needed. Mr. F[redacted] did not find a certified licensed electrician as he states... we did. Furthermore, he states that he paid for this to be done and did not think of asking us to pay for the electrician to correct his mistakes... How thoughtful of him.As for the loan that Mr. F[redacted] continually brings up. We took out a loan through a finance company that he suggested with the intent of having him complete the work mentioned and remodel a bathroom in the future. There was NEVER mention of loan cost to him. In our minds it was our loan. And there was no contract agreement that he would complete the bathroom remodel. Going into our association with Mr. F[redacted] we had every intention of have both projects completed. His quality of work provided is the sole reason that we decided find another contractor to complete further projects. Because we did like the quality of the windows installed, at one point we attempted to purchase another window through his company for our kitchen. He responded with an inflated price... mentioning the loss he took through our loan. His continual mention of the loan speaks volumes as to his priorities when it concerns a customer. Maybe he should take the responsibility of losing the bathroom remodel project through his actions and the actions of those working for him. Please note that in his response Mr. F[redacted] states that there are flat out lies in our complaint". We take exception to his accusations of lies. And in fact, feel that he is the one providing false statements and/or misrepresentations concerning this complaint. Furthermore, in his response Mr. F[redacted] continually refers to us as "these People" and "that these were not the kind of people that he wanted to or needed to deal with". We find this to not only be rude but also indicative of his "professionalism".After our stated experience with Mr. F[redacted], and his somewhat... very odd... mention of the wearing of diamond rings, we do not feel comfortable having any further dealings or communications with Mr. F[redacted] and West Penn Windows and Doors. At this time, we do not wish to pursue this matter any further and only wish to state...
