West Point Homes Reviews (3)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below In response to Al R [redacted] (West Point Home) we did make revisions, in May, and most of our revisions were never completed to the homeWe did not receive the handi cap toilet, house back door, and the living room carpet is the wrong color As far as the driver from the factory, Champion homes states that they are not responsible for him, Al is, And know Al is telling us he is not responsible for him...so who is?someone had to contract this guyThe driver stated to us that Al told him it was like putting it in a parkThe driver also found that with the help he had brought he felt that he needed to get out of the truck to help direct the home on to the pad, so he placed the woman and the baby in the truck, and she tried to back the home inThat didn't work so well eitherI have pictures of the older home setting straight on the pad, there is nothing off about the padThe home as you will see by the pictures is 1/feet off the padThis causes the issue of placing the blocks correctly, in the front on the home the gas line and electric line is 1/feet from the home, the back of the home, the blocks will be sitting on the ground, allowing the blocks to sink, and shift in to the groundYes Al is correct the home does not sit on the blocks, and are for looks, but also to help keep the air from flowing under the home, so if the blocks are not set correctly, this will cause issues with cold air getting under the home, water freezing, and warmthWe bought a $60,home, YES I want it to look good, as well as be warm! Yes the set did start a few days after the home arrived, but it continued for two weeks, as his helper continued to have issues and had to leaveAt one point when his helper was here, I asked him to adjust the front door, he stated"I need to wrap this up fast, I need to get back to the office to build steps." I said would those be our steps we were told we would have a week ago." His helper said "yup." The last time his helper came out he decided to bring his girlfriend with him....unprofessional [redacted] did not call Al about the supports under the home, I didAnd YES I asked Al on the first day that the set began about the issues in the home as well as the placement of the homeAl's response was"Live in it for days, write all your issues down, and we will take care of it." The factory driver told us that Al's crew would come out to set the home, his crew would roll it over to where it belongsSo when Al's man came to set the home Ed asked Al's helper, about them rolling the home overAl's helper had replied that he new nothing about it YES, my first E-Mail to Champion homes was Aug 4thKim was the first person I talked to, then some man from Champion homes called, never left a name, Kim also called on the 14thThen I started talking with Jeane, and Rhonda on the 18thThe last time I talked to Jeanne she absolutely told me nothing else could be done inside until the home was movedI have NEVER told Al no call backs...how insane would that be? Regards, [redacted]

I believe I will start with the first inconsistence, the home was not officially ordered until June Most of May was spent making revisions to their home, revisions to be exact I wouldn’t call it a nightmare but they did several color changes ,bath vanity change, and multiple wall colors
in all but two roomsI agree with ** and *** , I did make reference to visiting their siteBecause of the **’s concerns with the lot and some problem getting the older smaller out I sent my Drive Mike to inspect and he made recommendations to ** directly as to what needed to be done to make new home accessible but still not an easy delivery As for the factory driver delivering the home and the people he had with him is irrelevant to me as he is not an employee of mineHowever he did call me to tell me it took them some time to adjust the home on the padAnd he also indicated that the pad was off and he got it within inches EXAMPLE ( A ) this was taken by the customerAs you can see the straight edge they used will show only inchesThe set was started a few days after deliveryThe only question at this time was the type of materials I was using as ** was concerned with the jack stand supporting system I was using He called me and I assured him the product is approved in N.Yand widely usedAt “NO” time did ** mention any moving of the homeAs a matter of fact my guy was there all day in setting the home and had to return another day with steps and service the sewer pipe and perform other services to homeAnother inconsistence The factory never said they would not do the service until home was movedPer Janine service rep from the manufacturer Champion Homes has also told me the first contact was not made Aug4th but was made on Aug18th.The home at this date had been set up for nearly a monthAlso any calls made to me were always returned that day or the next dayI did cancel an appointment and called and talked to Debbie And gave her a new date. She has different dates on her statement of problems because I gave her the datesAnd again and again she said no call backsWow I just do not do things that way…I did visit the site and the whole back of the home in witch we usually use as a guide was no more than an inch up two inches off the pad and for only a short distance not to feetAs I had stated earlier the pad is off and the block they are proposing to skirt the home will cover the short portion of the pad that is offThe blocks are cosmetic only and are not used in any manor to support the homeI told Debbie at the site that I would get back to her .A few days later ** called and asked me when am I taking care of this matter I said to ** I have two houses exposed to the weather that are my priority right now He said why isn’t his ? “** your living in the home you water you have heat.” When I get them under control I will contact you . I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  In response to Al R[redacted] (West Point Home) we did make revisions, in May, and most of our revisions were never completed to the home. We did not receive the handi cap toilet, house back door, and the living room carpet is the wrong color.   As far as the driver from the factory, Champion homes states that they are not responsible for him, Al is, And know Al is telling us he is not responsible for him...so who is?someone had to contract this guy. The driver stated to us that Al told him it was like putting it in a park. The driver also found that with the help he had brought he felt that he needed to get out of the truck to help direct the home on to the pad, so he placed the woman and the baby in the truck, and she tried to back the home in. That didn't work so well either. I have pictures of the older home setting straight on the pad, there is nothing off about the pad. The home as you will see by the pictures is 2 1/2 feet off the pad. This causes the issue of placing the blocks correctly, in the front on the home the gas line and electric line is 2 1/2 feet from the home, the back of the home, the blocks will be sitting on the ground, allowing the blocks to sink, and shift in to the ground. Yes Al is correct the home does not sit on the blocks, and are for looks, but also to help keep the air from flowing under the home, so if the blocks are not set correctly, this will cause issues with cold air getting under the home, water freezing, and warmth. We bought a $60,000 home, YES I want it to look good, as well as be warm! Yes the set did start a few days after the home arrived, but it continued for two weeks, as his helper continued to have issues and had to leave. At one point when his helper was here, I asked him to adjust the front door, he stated. "I need to wrap this up fast, I need to get back to the office to build steps." I said would those be our steps we were told we would have a week ago." His helper said "yup." The last time his helper came out he decided to bring his girlfriend with him....unprofessional.  ** did not call Al about the supports under the home, I did. And YES I asked Al on the first day that the set began about the issues in the home as well as the placement of the home. Al's response was. "Live in it for 30 days, write all your issues down, and we will take care of it." The factory driver told us that Al's crew would come out to set the home, his crew would roll it over to where it belongs. So when Al's man came to set the home Ed asked Al's helper, about them rolling the home over. Al's helper had replied that he new nothing about it.  YES, my first E-Mail to Champion homes was Aug 4th. Kim was the first person I talked to, then some man from Champion homes called, never left a name. , Kim also called on the 14th. Then I started talking with Jeane, and Rhonda on the 18th. The last time I talked to Jeanne she absolutely told me nothing else could be done inside until the home was moved. I have NEVER told Al no call backs...how insane would that be? Al has stood us up on several occasions, both in person and phone calls.I have records to show this, as well as witnesses. You absolutely do, do business this way. You have constantly put us off, complaining about the usability to find good help. Yes we are in the home for know, but we do not have a certificate of occupancy, so that may change any time. All I want is our home moved, everything inside fixed, and replaced with what we ordered. I want to be done with this nightmare. Word of mouth is huge, and I have nothing good to say about how Al or Champion Homes conduct business. The last call we called Al he stated that he would call us on Monday 11/2 with a date to move the home. He again never called. THAT IS ALL WE WANT, we need a solid date when the home will be moved, so we can contact the building inspector and inform him as well.and be done with this nightmare!   Regards,  [redacted]
