West Side Auto & Towing Reviews (2)

The Counsel for WEST SIDE AUTO STATES:
Their client disputes almost the entirety of the claim. The car needed a tow. When they arrived the car was not drivable. The [redacted] agreed the vehicle needed to be towed and repaired. Due to the age of the car, the [redacted] was advised the car was probably...

not worth fixing due to its current condition. Due to this advise, WSA was asked to diagnose the problem.  The consumer requested used parts. An estimate was provided.  The used part is not a warranty item since it can not be tested. The
consumer could not afford a new cylinder head so he went along with the used part.  The consumer was advised there was an error with the original estimate and an
approved amount was discussed.  The car sat in storage for 60 days. The [redacted] accepted the $1600.00 of the $2,000.00 of the agreed amount.  The [redacted] also waived the large amount of storage fees. The consumer took the car and drove away. The car was old with almost 200,000 miles on it with used parts. There was
no guarantee how long the car would last. The consumer also stated another mechanic at or looked or worked on the vehicle.
There is nothing at this point the business feels they can do to accommodate the consumer

Review: My vehicle broke down and I called West Side Auto to get it towed and repaired. The repair itself took over a week and I was told that the repair cost was $1250.00.I went to West Side Auto to make the payment and I was then told that the cost was actually $2000.00.The [redacted] said she made an error and that I needed to pay $2000.00 to get my car back.I informed the [redacted] that I could not afford to pay that much at the time and that I didn't agree to getting $2000.00 worth of repairs. I was not asked if I wanted to confirm to pay $2000.00 for repairs.I told the [redacted] I could not pay at this time and asked if I could negotiate on the price since she made an error. The [redacted] went to speak with the [redacted]) and confirm if the price could be negotiated. I was then told that it was okay to pay $1600.00.I needed to save more money to pay the $1600.00. I saved the money up and returned to pickup the car and I was then told that $1600.00 was not ok and that the [redacted] was fired because she was making under the table deals with customers that the [redacted] did not approve.I was told by the new [redacted] that I needed to bring $2000.00 next week and that they would have no problem storing the car until I had the money. I told the new [redacted] that I was duped previously on the price and that I was not too happy about this whole business transaction. I told the new [redacted] that I wanted the price back to the original negotiation price because I did not agree to pay $2000.00.It turns out that they drop the price after I called multiple times with complaints.I was told I could pay $1600.00 for the repair and that would be considered paid.I was then told that if I paid $1600.00 for the repair, my car would run fine guaranteed.I take the car and drive home and the car misfires the following evening.I called the [redacted] and he told me that hes not responsible to help me in any way unless I pay 5 hours worth of more labor and more repairs. I had a horrible experience.Desired Settlement: I would like at least 50% of the amount paid refunded back to me.I paid $1600.00 for the car to be repaired and the car was given back to me with a bad valve under the cylinder head (which is what they replaced). This is why I think that I am entitled for a refund.
