West Terre Haute Water Works Reviews (3)

I have been out of the office and I have been going through all of my mail and noticed another letter requesting a response from *** *** ID ***. It is my understanding that the girls in my office have since talked with her husband, Ron ***, and have made arrangements to get this taken care of. Ron *** came to the office on the 18th and signed an agreement for payment arrangement. If you feel that this is still necessary to continue, I will by all means write a response to the complaint. Otherwise, I feel as though this is being handled. Mr*** had no idea that the bill was not being paid and was more than willing to take care of the bill and agreed to the billing agreement that was presented. Should you need any more information, please feel free to contact me Very best, Nikki K*** Clerk-Treasurer West Terre Haute nk***[email protected] 812-533-1053

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Here is the information I gathered together in response to Ms K***'s letter. Yes in some point in 2016/my children were advised of a leak. For how long the leak had been going on before they were notified of it, we are unsureMy daughter in law set up payment arrangements until we located and fixed the leak After we established were the leak was located, we questioned Water Deptas to whom was responsible for fixing it. As it appeared (see photo 408) the leak was located on an access road. My Jeep in this photo is exiting the top of my driveway(photo 313) is showing that access road to my driveway After several attempts (that failed to get resolved) as to establish who was responsible for the fixing of it, I hired an individual July to make necessary repairs yes at my expense and Water Deptwas notified. At which time my children continued to pay the amount that was told to them until bill was adjusted. I personally am unsure if anything was adjusted but on October 25, 2017, my daughter in law received a voice mail ( voice mail txt) stating there was another leak. Here again for how long it had been leaking before notifying them its unsure although I do know it was three months after first was fixed, and if the leak was that bad one would had thought notification would had been sooner However, we walked the entire area to try to locate the second leak (see photos 129,254) which covered approx yards, after being told we would be able to see the leak due to water bubbling up to the surface of the ground and with the amount of water they claim was leaking we thought eventually we would find a pond. We found Nothing! These two photo show the distance from one end of the property to the other end. If you look at photo's (129,254,326,) They show you from my house to were my meter is located approx yards away. After which I met with Council Member Mr S*** to request to possibly have the meter placed onto our property. He agreed to that and stated that " the meter should never have had been placed into someone else property to begin with" you can see that it leaves our property, crosses a road that is approx 23', then enters someone else's property and continues to the other side of theirs approx yardsMr S*** then stated, "because of the error, the town would move the meter onto our property at Towns expense, all I had to do was run the new line to the new pit". I contracted an individual who will dig my trench and lay new pipe down however, they will not do the work until they know were the pit will be and the town won't put the pit in till the bill is paid in full. Now that brings me to the bill. Ms K*** stated all the adjustments and the date of cut off. By reviewing my past bills, she has a total adjustment of 6,in July, yet by December we have a balance of 6,844.46. In January services were cut off for "non payment" yet I have a March bill in the amount of 7,073.76. I am no math expert, but my math dose not seem to add up (750) In the end it was said that the one man was bitten by the dog. As I stated, she had puppies and was extremely territorial and despite the sign on the door (103157) he walked into the garage to deliver a cut off notice. It is common knowledge that you do not enter someones privet dwelling when it is posted and no one is present to meet you All attachments I may have to add onto another email having difficulty loading to this email. Thank you in advance for all you assistance in resolving this issue. Sincerely, *** ***

In reference to the complaint filed with your office, case ID***, customer *** *** is the mother to the actual resident, *** *** at *** *** *** *** *** *** ***According to our records, it appears as though the customers' water usage indicated a possible leak
around October of Around that time the customer was told by our office about an adjustment that could be done to cover the extra water usageThe customer was told to pay what the bill usually runs and once the leak was fixed, we would adjust up to three months of the increase off of the billThey were told to notify us when the leak was fixed so we could prepare the adjustment for themThis is a courtesy that is offered to all of our customers when a leak occursOur policy is for them to be eligible for one adjustment per yearThe usage on the meter continued to increase over the next several months and the customer continued to pay $per month from October 21, until October 27, In July of 2017, the customer received an adjustment on their bill in the amount of$3,269.78, which left a remaining balance of $1,The customer was supposed to come to the office to set up an arrangement to pay off the remainder of the bill over the next to monthsThe customers did not come in to set this up but continued to pay $a monthThe last payment we received from them in the amount of $was in October of They were also given an adjustment in July of in the amount of $3,269.78.We have adjusted a total of $6,539.56.In January of 2018, they were disconnected for non paymentThey have been told multiple times that they have a leak and that the leak needed to be repairedThe customer's mother, Mrs***, talked with one of the council members, Chuck S***, about the possibility of the meter being movedMrS*** was willing to help with that but it is the customer's responsibilty to relocate their personal lines and from the main lines to the meter pits that we installThe customer has to run the service line from their house to the meter pitMrs*** was told that we could move that meter pit but the bill had to be paid in fullOur water employees have been out to the residence several times to help with locating personal service issues, shut valves etc., and one of our employees was actually bitten by the homeowners dog at one point and was treated at *** for the bite.I believe that we have exhausted all of our resources for this customer and have tried to help them all that we can.
