This letter is to dispute the false complaint filed by our customer, Ms. [redacted] came to us on February 16th and expressed interest in purchasing a vehicle from our establishment. [redacted] showed [redacted] several vehicles that were for sale and she test drove and agreed to purchase a 2005 Nissan Altima. They agreed on a purchase price of $3,700 and took the car with her that day. [redacted] texted [redacted] to ask for the VIN number for the Nissan and insured it in her name that day. [redacted] went through the car carefully and verified that it was a sound purchase. [redacted], satisfied that she was purchasing a reliable car, agreed to purchase the car from [redacted]. At this time, [redacted] opted to not purchase a warranty for the vehicle even though [redacted] offers extended warranties for all vehicles he sells through his company. The day after purchasing the vehicle, [redacted] again texted [redacted] to inform him that the car was shaking and that she wanted him to inspect the car to see what was wrong. [redacted] promptly responded and sent two of his mechanics to her residence to bring her a loaner car while they brought the car back to the auto shop to see what was causing the issue. That evening [redacted] parked the loaner car in a no parking zone, and the vehicle was towed. She called and texted [redacted] to inform him that the car was towed and that it would cost $295 to get it out of the tow yard. [redacted] admitted fault for parking the car in a no parking zone but claimed she could not pay to get the car out of the tow yard. [redacted] then paid the $295 to retrieve the vehicle. [redacted] then returned the Nissan to [redacted], which he repaired free of charge. Two weeks following this incident, [redacted] came by our office stating that she wanted to "return" the vehicle because her ex-boyfriend was going to give her a vehicle for free. [redacted] agreed to repurchase the vehicle from [redacted], and explained that he would be refunding her full cash amount minus the cost of the tow charge he paid to retrieve the loaner vehicle from the tow yard. She continued to verbally attack him, demanding full repayment. [redacted] calmly asked her to wait outside while I prepared a check for [redacted]'s refund. [redacted] continued yelling obscenities at [redacted] as she walked out of the office and slammed the door behind her.
[redacted]'s statement was misleading and omitted several key components. There were never any repairs made by her on the vehicle (at least none that she made aware to us). She was untruthful as to the date that she purchased the vehicle and failed to mention that she refused the opportunity to purchase a warranty on a used vehicle with 150,000 miles on its engine. [redacted] never made any uncouth remarks to [redacted] in my presence, even though [redacted] made unprofessional statements both in her texts to [redacted] as well as when she came to the office to return the vehicle. [redacted] attempted to make this a positive experience for [redacted] in every possible way. He remained professional in all communication, even while [redacted] made suggestive and provocative remarks to [redacted] that were incredibly unprofessional and insulting to [redacted] and his significant other. [redacted] was not fair in demanding full repayment for the vehicle which she agreed to purchase and used as a daily personal vehicle for over two weeks. [redacted] was more than fair in offering to return $3,400 to [redacted], which was the full purchase price minus the tow charge he had to pay due to her error. He did not ask her to pay for the repairs he made to the vehicle, nor charge her a fee for the added mileage she put on the vehicle while it was in her possession.
