West U Cleaners Reviews (3)

Review: I brought my expensive coat (original retail value over $500) for cleaning last week. It had only been worn a few times, but there were a few stains on the on wrist which I pointed out to her. The Vietnamese lady and I checked the label to confirm that it said Dry Clean only. When I picked up the coat this week, I checked the coat and it was completely ruined. The color had changed, the fabric looked melted, and there were large gray spots all over the front and back of the coat-- clearly could not be worn at all anymore. When I pointed this out, the cleaners claimed that this was the condition the coat was in when I left it and that it was filthy at that time. I told them there were none of these stains, except for the few small ones along the wrist and that the color and fabric were definitely not like this. I asked them what they would do about this and they said they would not do anything because they did their best to clean my "filthy coat", pointing out that the stains on the wrist were now gone and that all the other stains had been there when they received it. (Of course this is untrue. In fact, most reputable dry cleaners would not have accepted an item in that condition). Then they told me to pay the dry cleaning fee for this. I refused to pay the dry cleaning fee after they completely destroyed my $500 coat and she said that I had to leave the coat there. I told them I would take it with me as evidence. She threatened to call the police if I left without paying and then proceeded to write down the license plate from my car parked outside. It is totally appalling and unprofessional that they destroyed my $500 coat, and then threatened to call the police on me for the $15 dry cleaning fee. This is very unfair that they are lying about having destroyed my property. I do not expect the complete replacement cost for the coat, but I do think they owe me some compensation. I also think I do not owe them the cleaning fee.Desired Settlement: It is totally appalling and unprofessional that they destroyed my over $500 coat, and then threatened to call the police on me for the $15 dry cleaning fee. This is very unfair that they are lying about having destroyed my property. I do not expect the complete replacement cost for the coat, but I do think they owe me some compensation. I also think I do not owe them the cleaning fee. I would like $250, which is not even half the cost of the coat.

Review: Took my clothes into the cleaners for the first time since I was looking for a cleaners that was closer to my house. I gave them 4 suits and when I returned to pick up my clothes they only gave me back 3. Even before I looked at the clothes I told [redacted] the [redacted] as he told me that there were clothes missing and he told me no there was not because the number of clothes on the sheet was the same number as the clothes on the hangers. I told him the person must have written down the wrong number. He did not believe me. I asked why would I only drop off half the clothes. I even told [redacted] that it was a [redacted] blackish grey suit with window pane designs on it.Desired Settlement: Since they have lost a $2000.00 [redacted] suit was lost I would like the money to replace it. I can provide receipts showing the amount of the suit. I will accept the suit they lost back as well.

Business

Response:

On [redacted] dropped off 24 items. Including 3 jackets for dry clean, 7 shirts for dry clean, 8 pants for dry clean, and 6 shirts for

laundry.

We received the clothes, counted them in front of him then wrote down on the ticket which has 3 carbon-copy layers. The first-white-layer for us to

file, the second-yellow-layer we gave him as a customer ticket, and the third-green-layer is to go along with the order.

On [redacted] came back to pickup his clothes (without the yellow ticket). As a policy, [redacted] counted 24 items in front of him. He paid

then brought all 24 items away. Later [redacted] came back and said that he missing 1 jacket. [redacted] said that the ticket showed we receive 24 items, we

delivered 24 items. [redacted] requested him to bring back all the clothes so both of them will inspect again, but he never did.

On [redacted] came back and told [redacted] that he is missing 1 suit. [redacted] pulled out the first-white-layer-ticket and again showed to him that we received only 3 jackets and we return 3 jackets. (To verify, I attach the copy of the white-layer ticket and the green-layer ticket). You can see on the line “jacket” number 3 is unchange. [redacted] ask him to bring his yellow ticket back to double check if he thought that we change our ticket, but he never came back with his yellow copy.

If the customer was able to provide evidence that we had lost his jacket, we would be more than happy to replace it. However, in this case it is not our

fault so we cannot do anything beside asking him to check around at home or in the car.

Thank you for understanding.

Review: I can’t file this complaint online because the system says it’s getting an error. Therefore, I will email my complaint. I would like to file a complaint against WestU Cleaners. Their address is [redacted]. Their phone number is [redacted] I have had problems with these people before my latest complaint. I went to pick up my shirts the other day and a couple of them had what looked like ink spots on them. As usual, they immediately took the position that I had brought them in this way. That is absolutely untrue. I have had problems with them in the past where there may be some kind of spots on my clothes when I receive the clothes and their standard reply is that it’s the customers fault and the clothes were brought in that way.Desired Settlement: I’m sick of it. They have ruined two of my shirts. They are sloppy and liars. I would like at least $50 per shirt which means I want $100. If they don’t respond to the Revdex.com, they will hear from my lawyer. Thank you in advance for your help. [redacted]

Subject: Complaint response ID: [redacted]

To whom it may concern,

This is a direct statement from our employee that serviced the customer:

Name[redacted]

Position: Cashier

"When Mr. [redacted] came to pick up his clothes, there were two shirts that we set aside and NOT CLEANED because it both had ink stains on them. I clearly stated to Mr. [redacted] that the shirts could not be cleaned without a signed consent because of the material it was made out of and that it could possibly damage the item if we tried to spot clean and remove the tough stains. When I pointed out the stains on the shirts, he DID NOT deny that he made the stain nor did he blame us. After explaining to him the issues, he proceeded to take the shirts home and told us from the door, "fk y'all," and left."
