I just received the first letter on Monday and here is what I have found out. Yes, Ms*** had called regarding her bill status with our hospital. Ms***, was seen in our Nampa office for a UTI. Yes, she did inquire about a urine test, and a routine UA
in house. Unfortunately, Ms*** had a very abtest result which warranted a full culture processed by a pathologist. Therefore, DrP*** sent her test on for further evaluation to determine what medication she would need in order to treat her condition. I do feel that there may have been some miscommunication on both sides, which I did explain to the patient, who fully understood the importance of getting the culture done in order to treat her condition. I did contact the laboratory manager at West Valley Medical Center to see if they were willing to do an adjustment, they agreed to discount her bill 85% to equal $ . I have left two messages on Ms***’s cell phone and as of today I have not had a return call. The billing for this procedure is based on customary fees set by each hospital and the procedure billed is not included in an office visit code whether it is billed from the office side or from the hospital side This was a culture and not a routine laboratory test.
I have instructed our staff to be more clear in how outside laboratory is handled for all my clinics

I received this complaint today from *** ***(Practice Manager at Nampa location)I did email Lori L** at the Wilder clinic on 2-29-16, however she was off until 3-3-I received an email from Lori yesterday and have attached itYou will find my email asking Lori questions about this
account and a journal print of the account showing *** dates of service and when the account was turned to collectionsThis also shows the letters the clinic sent to *** asking for MVA informationI did speak with Theresa C at Action Collection this morningHer number is ***They received the account on 7-22-They called the patient 7-23-15, 8-24-15, 9-8-15, 9-22-15,10-22-15, & 12-23-with no returned callsThe number they have on file is *** which is correctThey sent a letter to *** on 7-29-to * *** *** Homedale, ID Theresa did confirm *** called them on 2-8-saying this amount should have been paid by her attorneyI confirmed *** address with her when I spoke to her in February*** received monthly statements and collections letters from our clinicShe never updated us with insurance, MVA, or attorney informationShe gave the clinic her insurance card on 7-29-15, but this was after her account was turned to collections on 6-29-Please let me know if you have any further questionsI left *** a message this morning because I told her I would get back to her once Lori responded to my emailThis was before I received this complaint from Susie
