There were two jobs; one we did install at [redacted] at [redacted], which was completed and paid for ($12,800.00). The second, at [redacted]'s personal home/business, which was installed August of 2013 (not 3/**/14). [redacted] supplied a gate that was installed by...

someone else, and provided a gate operator, pvc conduits with electrical wiring, including a phone line to run the telephone entry units, pedestals for keypads, and two keypads. Our firm was hired to install his equipment and we provided 2 Doorking 1835 telephone entry units, which we connected to the wires he provided. We also installed an entrance loop with an annunciator. We completed the job (August 2013) and went over the operations with [redacted] and his office manager. He was satisfied and paid his bill (approx. $9,500.00). At no time was a six digit code ever discussed (the unit only takes four digit access codes) and he was never told Doorking change d ownership. On 3/**/14 we went to reprogram 4 of his supplied remotes and billed him $375.00 which we did not receive payment until our next service call on 8/**/15 (a year and a half later). [redacted] said there was a slight noise on the Doorking 1835 telephone. Chris (one of the owners) adjusted the microphone board so that you can hear the guest better. He also performed a thorough check by running a new phone line above the ground from the D mark box to each unit only to still have a slight noise, he even changed the telephone entry board with a new one to see if the noise would go away and it didn't. At no point did the gate and the telephone entry units not work. You could communicate with a guest and the gate could be opened and closed. By running the line above the ground and swapping the boards, it eliminates our equipment from being defective. He was told that the issue could be with the phone service provider or in the telephone itself (which is equipment that we did not install). We have not been there since August of 2015 and do not know who has played around with the equipment and possibly damaged them. He has not paid his bill from 8/**/15 for $322.13 to date

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The bottom line here is I disagree with everything in their reply. I have text messages going back to the start of our relationship. In the interest of not wasting our time and the B.B.B's time, the only thing that matters here is that they will not stand behind their product. I want proof that I did not pay my bill and that it is the reason they didn't come back. I never dealt with the company, I only dealt with Chris. So the fact that the company sent me a bill makes no sense. I have many text messages explaining all that. Chris is clearly a pawn at the company and they maybe have enough respect for him as they do for me. I had a great relationship with him, unlike the woman in the office and his brother Vinnie. Also for Chris and Vinnie's information, I have been recording my phone calls for the past 7 years with a program called CallRecorder Pro. I have all my conversations with these two men and copious witnesses to our dealings as at the time we were NOT a small company. We are going to file a simple lawsuit today in NJ and that's the end of it. Unless Chris sends me a bill with the terms of agreement and if only it does not say they aren’t going to replace the two alleged malfunctioning units with working ones upon receipt of payment. At the same time, if they are not cooperative, we are going to sue Westchester Gate and will never consider this case closed. Let me make it perfectly clear again.. Westchester Gate says I'm a bad payer and I don't pay my bills, I have said from the beginning that I will gladly pay that amount upon delivery and installation of working units. My attorney is included in this message as we are now taking this issue and filing a lawsuit. All monies owed in regards to this issue are going in to escrow and if/when they replace the units AND they work, on day of installation, then they will get the money from the attorney.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. The gate was installed by [redacted]’s personal fence company and the gate functions properly. It has nothing to do with the work that Westchester Gate did. Westchester Gate came and told [redacted] that the $6000 units that he had purchased ie: Keypads, computer boards and pedestals, were no good and he should buy their product, ie: Door King. Therefore, I returned the product I originally bought and purchased the suggested Door King product from Westchester Gate. Westchester Gate installed the Door King keypad units, the drive way annunciator and hooked up the system to the gate opener that works perfectly and always has. The only issue here is the Door King units that have not functioned properly since the day Westchester Gates installed them, along with the annunciator, which they personally buried in the ground and hooked up to the alert chimes located in the residence, farm and shop. The job was never completed and was always a work in progress, due to the fact that both the annunciator and the door entry unit never worked properly from installation. At no time was a 6 digit code ever discussed, this is correct but what I did ask them to do, several times over the past two years, is if the motherboards were faulty and the programming proved to be unfixable, I asked that I have a larger code option on whatever new units we did end up getting as a replacement for the faulty items.Door King changed ownership during our relationship and that is public record. I was told he moved to another company and that only Indians answered the phone. This made it impossible to get anything done. If they did not change ownership, this was clearly a lie told to me by Chris to sour the possibility of me getting the units traded in on warranty. The reason why they were not paid for a year and a half was because they refused to come back until the bill was paid. Chris finally agreed to come back and he was paid in cash. I want to stress and also I can prove via copious text messages basically begging them to come correct the issue, as it is a security issue, not a remote control issue. I told them repeatedly that I could not go on vacation and leave my 12 horse farm and not have the key pads working properly. There wasn’t a slight noise as stated by Westchester Gate’s response. Neither the exit nor entry worked ingoing or outgoing ie: you could not hear the person talking and they could not hear you, it never even worked from the beginning.  It did not work at all and was still not functional. We hired Century Link, our local telephone company to come out and we paid in excess $1100 to run a landline above ground, directly to the boxes. The Century Link rep, named Chuck, that came out to look at the issue, has worked for the telephone company in our area for over 25 years. He told us there was nothing wrong with the phone line. He also told Chris that the exact problem must be with the units, as [redacted]’s lines run properly. This is also on record with the phone company. The communication aspect of this product never worked and more than two dozen people can attest to that. We have never communicated with anybody via the units since they were installed.Westchester Gate are now claiming something that they can’t prove and never will be able to prove. As I said before, Century Link confirmed in person directly to them and to me that the problem is not on Century Link’s side in regards to the phone lines and we all agreed. Once Chris heard this, he did whatever heroic smoke and mirror show he could to make the speakers barely work. Also, as I stated before, we paid Century Link to come out and take care of this issue. The reason we had to pay for this was that there was nothing wrong with their line. Chris might have gotten the speakers to work ever so slightly, but the next time we went to use the unit after he left, they did not work at all. So Chris left my property and charged me for his visit, even though it was proven that it was still his units that were faulty. We have not touched or ‘played around with the unit’ and never have. We hired a professional and highly reputable security company to come and inspect the units and they determined that the annunciator was not installed properly and was missing a component that was supposed go hand in hand with the unit. Conversations with the manufacturer assured me that the system installation requires specific hardware that was not installed. To elude or state the fact that we ‘played around with the system’ is ridiculous. We have been in constant communication via text. Attached is the official statement made by AbCode security. Upon request, we can send copies of all the text messages going back to the start of my relationship with Chris, which will virtually prove that everything I am saying is true. We can also provide upon request, a statement from the Century Link technician that was onsite, to try and correct an issue that had nothing to do with them.I have not paid this bill because this bill reflects the last day that they were here to determine whether it was mine or their equipment that was failing. On record, we determined that it was Westchester Gates, not mine. I have informed Vinnie, Chris’s brother, that if it is about the last bill, I would gladly pay it if they replaced the failing units so I have a system that actually works. Vinnie’s response was, “pay your bill” then proceeded to hang up on me. Sadly it is in my opinion that it is merely upon Chris and his family business, because my relationship with him was a good one and I expressed understanding and compassion throughout our entire relationship. This I can prove once again with all the text messages that went back and forth during this entire time period.  This is a very simple issue. Westchester Gate is a very large and established company, much bigger than mine. If I sell someone a product that is faulty I am forced to replace it or I will be sued. Westchester Gate has sold me hardware that has been confirmed to be faulty by multiple other entities. Westchester Gate needs to do the right thing and replace my units and my annunciator system with one that is complete. I know they’re in a position to be able to do this and the fact that they have not already is completely unacceptable. Simply, based on the large amount of money that I have already invested in their company just for replacements alone, (which I have spent over $20,000 on previously) this should be a reason to solve the issue immediately.I also would like to make you aware that we are having another company come out and uninstall Westchester Gate’s equipment that they sold and provided me with and replace it with a product that works fully functionally. We intend to sue Westchester Gates for all costs incurred, including attorney fees and triple damages, as sadly for me being in business since 1989, I have been threatened once or twice before for being accused of doing shotty work, whether we did it or not and we were forced to pay. It’s very sad that a company of their size and reputation would do this to somebody like me. I find that this resolution is UNsatisfactory to me and the matter has NOT been resolved.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
