Westcott Automotive, Inc. Reviews (3)

A tag that was folded up and left above above the sun visor was left in the vehicle displayed a rebate from General Motors previous months rebate This should have been removed however the tag was not on display in the vehicle Mr*** was presented and given every rebate
that was available for this vehicle We did not present this rebate to him and we do regret that this was somehow left in the vehicle Again at no time did we represent to him or anyone else that this rebate was available for this vehicle during the time he looked and purchased the vehicle

I am rejecting this response because: The discount tag that was left in the visor had no expiration date and Mr. [redacted] advertises unprecedented levels of customer service. Mr. [redacted] sent me a letter in which made the following commitments. According to [redacted] (April 13 2017), "We will complete your car buying experience by providing unprecedented levels of service, convenience, and personalized attention".  I have attached Mr. [redacted]'s letter for your review. I did not test drive the truck before I purchased it, and when I got home it looked like someone stuffed the sticker under the visor before I could see it. If I would have seen the sticker I would not have purchased the vehicle without the discount even if the salesperson told me the discount had expired, because seeing the sticker would effect my perception of the trucks value. Finding the sticker after I purchased the truck was very unpleasant.  My complaint is that the dealership refuses to honor their commitments to customer service. Mr. [redacted] acknowledges that the dealership made a mistake, but he refuses to honor the commitments made in the letter he sent me. If Mr. Westoctt doesn't have the money to provide me the discount, he could call GM and explain the mistake he made. I am confident that GM would consider providing him a credit for the discount if he were willing to call them.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2016/07/04) */
Mr. [redacted] totaled his vehicle shortly after purchasing it and before his 1st payment was due or any payment made. There was sever damage to the underside of the car as if the vehicle ran over something. The insurance company declared the...

vehicle a total loss and Mr. [redacted] settle with the insurance company on a payment to his account which left a balance due. At that point we assisted Mr. [redacted] on filling a claim with the Gap company that paid an additional amount toward his account but still left a balance of $1300. Due to the fact that the vehicle was totaled before any balance on his account had been paid down there was still a balance remaining after his insurance paid. At this time we are in no position to offer any additional assistance to Mr. [redacted].
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2016/07/06) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The car was overpriced, over I was taken advantage of, I had Gap, and full coverage insurance and they claim I will still owe a balance. My insurance paid what the vehicle was worth. My tire blew out from me driving and I didn't hit anything. It is my believe that I was given a defected vehicle, and it happened in February, they still have it on my credit as a open loan out of spite so I can't get a loan anywhere else hoping I would have came up with more money to come back to them. The vehicles they sell are way overpriced, that's why you have to have Gap coverage, and still left owing money. I have discovered I'm not the only one that this has happened to. Even the money they have reported to the credit bureaus don't add up to the money they have received. They gave me the run around to seek understanding, it is my best interest to seek legal actions due to how I was done, even my insurance representative don't understand it, plus I had road side assistance, but the dealership insisted on going to get the vehicle, that's unheard of, they was covering themselves, I would have took the vehicle to have it checked to see what happened to make a unknown blow out on my tire that made the air bag deploy I could have got hurt, it is in there best interest to settle with me now before it goes further
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2016/07/11) */
When Mr. [redacted] called us to inform us that he was in an accident we wanted to help. Since we have a body shop we offered to get the arrange for his vehicle to get towed here for his convenience and not to cover up something as he insinuates. His credit fill will be updated with any remaining balance if it has not already. There is nothing further we can offer Mr. [redacted]
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2016/07/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have talked to the [redacted] manufacturing company, they said the vehicle had 5 recalls on the vehicle, and what should have happened they should have let the certified [redacted] tech check the vehicle to see I'd if I was sold a defected vehicle. What actually happened I found out [redacted] is a partner with Westcott, and I have been trying to get my adjuster in this case get the vehicle and do so, he never returned my calls, the insurance company just now telling me that he no longer works there. They also sold the vehicle off in April and refuse to tell me who has it, I'm guessing Westcott bought it back to resell it.I was done wrong and my credit still shows a open loan, they deliberately took forever and I was affected, my insurance that covers rental car ran out, and I can't get a loan because it still shows I have a car a balance. They give me a paper showing one balance and the insurance another. I went to Westcott 5 times or more and they gave me the run around every time. I posted on Facebook how they did me and 20 some people respond on how terrible this dealership did them. Their reputation is terrible. I had full coverage and gap and they saying I will still owe a balance.
