Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I disagree with this for several reasonsI did contact Barbara at Sovereign Catering via email about the unconsumed alcohol on MayShe never contacted me backI feel she should have stated this from the very beginningAlso she was NOT at the event and the bartender who was did not allow my guest to come up for additional beersI do not drink and had to go up to her and get one for myselfSo I could give it to another one of my guestShe was very rude and unprofessionalI agree that it is good they are being safe in regards to serving the beerBut ONE per person is not acceptable and should have been shared prior to my event. I also ONLY called Barbara once and it was never nasty or unprofessional on my endI simply asked how could we handle this matterShe is the one whom got nasty and said well your not getting a refund and then hung up on meI then called back and she did not answerSo I explained via voicemail that was very rude and unprofessionalI then explained I feel I am owed some compensation back for thisI still doIt is her job and the company's to share all of this informationThat is why I hired themThey never once said this nor is it in my contractTherefore, I will continue to request a refundI only feel I need to pay for the alcohol that we did consume which was probably less than beers out of a whole keg which is ridiculousWe would have used more if allowed. Please see attached email where I questioned this with no response. I feel that my contract was not followed through by the reasons stated above and I am still requesting a refundThank you,***

I received a letter that *** *** had logged a complaint with your officeI would like to explain the situation from my point and ask you how to handle this and move forward On June 5th Sovereign Catering was hired by *** *** to provide a half barrel keg of beer and a
licensed bar tender for her wedding that took place at *** *** in ***We provided a half barrel keg of beer and a license bar tender as contracted. Ms***s complaint that we only served one beer per person is accurate in part because we practice safe service and only allow one beer at a time to be servedThis also allows us to check ID's of those individuals, as required by lawThere were some minors at Ms***s event and we wanted to make sure that only those that were legally allowed to consume the beer were the only ones consuming the beerWe never stated that someone couldn't have a second beer, only that they could only carry away one at a time from the barThere were several of her guest that came back several times for additional beersMs***s second complaint that we would not allow her to take the unconsumed beer with her is also correct and accurateThe reason is because the type of liquor license that we have from the State of Indiana does NOT allow carryoutMs*** asked during the consultation process prior to her event about unconsumed product and she was informed we did not have a carryout licenseShe was given the option to purchase bottled beer vskeg beer but went with the keg beer option because it was the cheaper optionThe day of the event, Ms.*** asked about the keg and we again explained to her that we could not allow carryout due to the type of license that we hadOur bar tender did give a half hour of extra service time because Ms.*** wanted to consume more of the beer Ms*** did call and email me, to which I responded to several of themShe called leaving nasty, threatening voice mails (which I have saved) demanding her money backAlthough we would like to be able to refund her money the problem is that we did deliver what she asked for by way of the keg of beer and the licensed bartenderWe purchased the keg from our distributor and we paid the wages of the bar tender that worked the eventWe did what we were contracted to do and followed the laws of the State of Indiana as is required for all responsible business owners that service alcoholic beveragesFor us to refund her money because she ordered too much beer (and was warned of this) is ludicrous We take our business very seriously as well as our responsibility to serve alcoholic beverages in a safe and legal mannerWe have contacted the Indiana State Excise Police on this matter and have been informed that we have in fact handled this situation appropriately and in accordance with state law Please let me know if you have any questions or if I may be of assistance in any way with moving this matter forward Thank you for your time and assistance with this matter!! -- Barbara H*** Sovereign Catering & Events, Owner Historic Lahr Atrium, Event Coordinator Moses Fowler House, Event Coordinator 765-404-
