Western New York Immediate Care Reviews (7)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Thank Jim for his response, however some of the information provided in there is not accurate I am not trying to pull a quick one on WNYIC, I pay my bills and have a solid credit score to back that up This was purely a business decision I would not have made had I been aware that I would be responsible for other charges, I was not feeling ill enough to justify paying $for this visit The statement, "WNYIC representative explained to him at that time that there may be additional charges over and above the co-pay, but at the time of his visit, since she could not access his account as the local confirmation system was down, she did not know what other charges may be applied," was never mentioned during my visit, if she had mentioned this to me - I would not be submitting this complaint If you read the details of my original complaint which is 100% truthful, she never told me the system was down, she affirmed me more than once that the $charge would be all I would be responsible for, for this visit I did sign documents after she explained the visit would only be a $co-pay after they submit the billing as a specialistWNYIC should be able to see that in there system that they never collected a co-payment from me upon visiting the location, this is what I found as odd despite the front desk associate being adamant that all I would be responsible for was the $Specialist Co-Pay, which I later found out they did not even submit the billing code for a specialist as she indicated in the officeI submitted my appeal and it was denied after [redacted] said the coding the was sent over was for urgent care and not for a specialist visit If the front desk associate had advised me the system was down, further charges might be coming and that the $co-pay was her interpretation of what I would be responsible for, I would not feel as if I had been bait and switched Because neither of the aforementioned statements were mentioned to me, I am quite upset regarding the patient responsibility and being blindsided by it Regards, [redacted]

Upon Mr***'s visit to our site, the front desk representative of Western New York Immediate Care ("WNYIC") collected the patient's co-pay amount as was indicated on his presented insurance cardThe WNYIC representative explained to him at that time that there may be additional charges over and
above the co-pay, but at the time of his visit, since she could not access his account as the local confirmation system was down, she did not know what other charges may be appliedThe patient indicated that he was agreeable and signed the various customary documents in which he agreed to ultimately pay for services renderedFollowing his visit, our organization has been in several discussions with this individual in an effort to resolve his voiced concernsThe first interaction was on 4/3/upon phone call by him to WNYIC inquiring about this billAt that time, he stated that he preferred to send an email with his concernsHe called again on 5/1/and admitted he forgot to send the email regarding his visitAfter that discussion, he sent the details of his concern in which WNYIC offered a courtesy discount on the billThe patient ultimately noted that he preferred to appeal the bill with his insurance providerWNYIC awaits the results of his insurance company appealSincerely, Jim *** **RN, MBA Director of Operations WNY Immediate Care

dispute the unpaid charge prior to Revdex.com notification. After researching the patient’s complaint, we will eliminate the $30 as an amount owed by the patient, and we will removethis debt from the patient’s credit reporting. We have attempted to contact the patient by phone to discuss this resolution; however, to date we have not reached the patient directly.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  Thank Jim for his response, however some of the information provided in there is not accurate.  I am not trying to pull a quick one on WNYIC, I pay my bills and have a solid credit score to back that up.  This was purely a business decision I would not have made had I been aware that I would be responsible for other charges, I was not feeling ill enough to justify paying $200 for this visit.  The statement, "WNYIC representative explained to him at that time that there may be additional charges over and above the co-pay, but at the time of his visit, since she could not access his account as the local confirmation system was down, she did not know what other charges may be applied," was never mentioned during my visit, if she had mentioned this to me - I would not be submitting this complaint.  If you read the details of my original complaint which is 100% truthful, she never told me the system was down, she affirmed me more than once that the $35 charge would be all I would be responsible for, for this visit.  I did sign documents after she explained the visit would only be a $35 co-pay after they submit the billing as a specialist. WNYIC should be able to see that in there system that they never collected a co-payment from me upon visiting the location, this is what I found as odd despite the front desk associate being adamant that all I would be responsible for was the $35 Specialist Co-Pay, which I later found out they did not even submit the billing code for a specialist as she indicated in the office. I submitted my appeal and it was denied after [redacted] said the coding the was sent over was for urgent care and not for a specialist visit.  If the front desk associate had advised me the system was down, further charges might be coming and that the $35 co-pay was her interpretation of what I would be responsible for, I would not feel as if I had been bait and switched.  Because neither of the aforementioned statements were mentioned to me, I am quite upset regarding the patient responsibility and being blindsided by it.  Regards, [redacted]
