Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10170125, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The sub-contractor roofer did not need to remove the existing skylights and cut the protruding drywall from the roof deck Velux does sell a universal flashing kit that would have worked with the existing skylights Because the roofers cut the protruding drywall without my permission, the skylights would no longer fit and had to be replaced with larger, in stock, skylights Westmen builders also put the homeowner in a very difficult position stating they would not warranty the roof against leaks if the existing skylights were used At the time of discussion, my roof was completely torn off, the skylights were removed and inclement weather was in the area A fast decision needed to me made Additionally, Westmen builders agreed to complete the interior drywall work on my home Since then I contracted a professional drywall firm, Dakota Drywall, to complete the unsatisfactory drywall work performed by Westmen builders to the expense of $ I still am holding firm that Westmen builders should cover the full expense of the replaced skylights in the amount of ~$1, Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10170125, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The sub-contractor roofer did not need to remove the existing skylights and cut the protruding drywall from the roof deck.  Velux does sell a universal flashing kit that would have worked with the existing skylights.  Because the roofers cut the protruding drywall without my permission, the skylights would no longer fit and had to be replaced with larger, in stock, skylights.  Westmen builders also put the homeowner in a very difficult position stating they would not warranty the roof against leaks if the existing skylights were used.  At the time of discussion, my roof was completely torn off, the skylights were removed and inclement weather was in the area.  A fast decision needed to me made.  Additionally, Westmen builders agreed to complete the interior drywall work on my home.  Since then I contracted a professional drywall firm, Dakota Drywall, to complete the unsatisfactory drywall work performed by Westmen builders to the expense of $700.  I still am holding firm that Westmen builders should cover the full expense of the replaced skylights in the amount of ~$1,000.

[redacted] about being a friend till he was done with the job. He was so convincing though. He said he would meet my painter, [redacted] and sign a waiver to pay him to paint the yellow roof edge. He told you I chose that color. He is not very truthful. It came with the shingles and other roofing material. He had to order it. They did not show me any color samples till time for gutters. I chose almond, an off white like the trim. He said he was anxious to meet him and maybe use him on some of his jobs. [redacted] never will show up. It was not on paper, just his word. His call back man was with him when he said it. He is my proof. Also he said we contracted him to install 20 feet of gutter when he was back here to replace the gutter that was not done right. That section of gutter was driving me crazy. I know you an not show pictures but I will send you some to help you understand. I took a four year carpenter apprentiship. 1960 - 1964. Worked on many homes. I worked 12 years for [redacted] doing there call backs. One day [redacted] said I was one of his best. Made me feel darn good. When I print a rebuttal to [redacted]'s claims it will be much shorter. Meanwhile I will send pics and explain.

Review: Roof and gutters improperly installed (especially the gutters)

Damage to aluminum gable facia

Had to pay another party 240.00 to reinstall correctly

Installed wrong color roof edge which now needs to be paintedDesired Settlement: Would like a payment settlement for poor workmanship. When contractor sends men back to attempt to fix, the problem is not fixed and even made worse (white caulking on brown roof). Would like written agreement from contractor to cover costs of our own selected tradesman to correct the problems.

Review: Westmen Builder's sub-contractor improperly removed skylights from the roof of the homeowner resulting in an additional expense to the homeowner of $1,020.90 over the contracted amount of $6,100. There was a verbal agreement that the homeowner would supply the skylights and flashing kits and Westmen Builders would professionally install and complete all interior drywall/finishing up to but not including painting. This agreement only was made because Westmen Builders would not negotiate to pay for the new skylights due to their error. During negotiation the old roof was completely removed and the old skylights were also removed. Inclement weather was in the area forcing a quick decision. Additionally, the new skylights were not properly installed. The required adhesive flashing strip was not used from the manufacturer to honor the warranty. Lasty, interior drywall work was not finished professionally and to the homeowner's satisfaction.Desired Settlement: The homeowner is requesting a refund in the amount of $1,020.90 to cover the homeowner's expense of the new skylights. Additionally, the homeowner is requesting a written warranty to cover any leaks around the skylights for the life of the roof due to their improper installation.
