Review: This rental company advertised a luxury apartment. The apartment that we moved into was dirty, in disrepair, in need of paint and had safety issues. This rental company never fixed anything that was noted on the move-in checklist. We also submitted repair requests throughout the year and they did not fix those issues either. Calls and emails to this rental company were not responded to. We left the apartment at the end of the lease period and cleaned it from top to bottom. Myself and 5 others cleaned, scrubbed and painted this apartment. We left the apartment in great condition!! The apartment was given back to them looking 100% better than how we received it. This rental company did not return our full security deposit. They deducted for cleaning and painting and some maintenance issues. They lied about these issues and had the nerve to charge us for their poor maintenance (for example we were charged for a loose heater, this is a heater that was falling apart and rusted because they never performed maintenance on it). Any cleaning issues that they noted were due to their poor maintenance as well. We were charged for areas that looked dirty, but were actually scratched, stained, and chipped due to years of their lack of maintenance. This rental agency is very deceitful, dishonest, unscrupulous, underhanded and unethical.Desired Settlement: I would like $65.28 returned to me that was deducted for issues that were not true and non-existent.

Review: I was a resident at [redacted] for two years while a student at Penn State University. During my stay at Westside Village my roommates and I were never a nuisance and were always respectful of both our neighbors, the property we were renting, and the staff of Westside Village LLC. Throughout our stay there this was not reciprocated by Westside Village. When we first moved in the apartment was not in the best shape. It was clear Westside did not take care to clean before we arrived, patch previously fixed holes in the walls that were caving in, and took extreme amounts of time to fix issues. This is all well documented in our move in packet.We waited on Westside to fix these issues, and some of them were never fixed. On top of that we were charged for the very items we listed in our move in form because they were never fixed. Other issues were the water heater that was broken and in turn cost us a couple hundred dollars in the electric bill that they took over a month to fix resulting in further expense on our part with no reimbursement for their out dated equipment. The original water heater was over 10 years old and not well taken care of. Another issue was we were told we would be supplied with high speed internet. What we actually received was DSL which has been outdated for many years, and we were mislead into believing we were receiving a service we weren't. Then for our second year Westside promised us DirecTV included in our rent. They told us we would get a certain amount of cable boxes and it would be ready upon move in. When we moved back in at the beginning of the year we didn't have DirecTV for 1.5 weeks, and they only allowed us one box. We were never told this so we got a bill for money we originally were told we wouldn't have to pay. This all just scratching the surface of the unethical way in which Westside Village operates. After move in we denied 860.32/1675 of our security deposit. This is where the problem lies. We have filed a dispute.Desired Settlement: We expect a full refund of our security deposit. They misled us on many occasions and never fixed issues brought up when we moved in we believe they operate their business unfairly with the intent to make an easy buck. The apartment was left to them in a condition far superior to the poor product we received upon move-in. We had to fix things like leaky faucets because they waited months to do anything. a moldy cabinet took 1.5 yrs to fix. Due to unethical practices we expect a full refund.
