Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: the information provided was incorrect- The trees have been there from day 1. Prior to the system being installed Planet Solar did a shade analysis on our property to determine the estimated annual production factoring in the trees lining our property. We were then quoted that the suggested system would produce 11,kw annually. The first year our system only produced 7,000, a shortfall of 4,552kw - 40% less than our quote. - It is our understanding that the Solar Shade Act does not apply in our case. The trees were planted decades before the system was installed. Also, the trees did not grow over time reducing the production by 10%, we have had a shade problem from day After the first year true up, a Planet Solar employee named Dave came to our house to inspect the system and make sure that it was working properly. At this time, Dave told Chad that he advised the sales agent, Mark Gleizer, that the trees were an issue and the annual production quote was too high- The pool pump was offered to us with no mention of it being in lieu of adding panels or reimbursing future shortfalls. Also, we were told that it was a $1400, not $pump- NO light bulbs were replaced in our home by Planet Solar- We HAVE had financial deficit do to the underproduction of the system. Year one Planet Solar issued us a check for $475, year two, they issued us a check for $237. Both of which had no explanation as to how they determined the amount to reimburse us. Our contract states that Planet Solar will "pay the customer a penalty equal to the shortfall annual kilowatt-hours multiplied by the average annual electric rate per kilowatt-hour for the period". I have requested this information multiple times, with no response from Planet Solar. Because of this, we have not cashed or deposited the check issued for year two. Regards, [redacted]

To Whom it May Concern, In our continous effort to insure EVERY customer is a happy customer, we find it a rare event to have a dissatisfied clientIn our over 6,installations, this is the first one that has filed a complaint with the Revdex.comOur company policy is that if we have a client that
cannot be pleased, as CEO I still personally get involved to try to find a solutionWith this case, we have taken extreme measures that we have never or rarely offered before, at considerable expense to Planet Solar. The client has stated that their solar PV system does not produce the power that it should, and currently that is correctHowever, this is due to trees that have grown adjacent to clients property shading the solar panelsThis is certainly not the fault of Planet Solar or the solar equipmentThe CA Solar Shade Act clearly states that if a neighboring property has trees that cause a PV system to reduce production by more than 10%, there are steps that can be taken (see CA Solar Shade Act link below).https://lib.sandiego.edu/law/documents/centers/epic/100329_SSCA_Final_000... mentioned earlier, we have given this client measures above and beyond the industry standard, in our sincere efforts to satisfy themThe purpose of Solar is to reduce a persons electric billTo that end, we replaced her old pool pump with a new variable speed pool pump, which is at least 80% more efficient and will have reduced her electrical consumption by 2,500-3,000KWH per yearThese pumps are $1,installed, but we gave it to the client for freeIf memory serves me correctly, we have also replaced some of her light bulbs with LEDs, again for freeFinally, to insure we take every step possible to satisfy the client, we have paid the client the difference between what her system should have produced, and what it actually did produceSo the client has not had ANY financial deficit due to the underproduction of the systemAnd this is due to the neighboring property's trees, at no fault of Planet Solar.
