WFA Econometrics Corporation Reviews (2)

*** *** *s the owner of this business She has been working on the QDRO's for a pension plan since May, has sent them to the attorneys and they have been submitted and redone on separate occasions and now the 4th time she has redone them, they have again been rejected Each time the pension plan TELLS HER WHAT IS WRONG AND HOW TO FIX THEM but she continues to send bad paperwork
SHE AND HER STAFF ARE INCOMPETENT!!!!!!!!!!

I hired this company to prepare two Qualified Domestic Relations Orders ("QDRO") for an Illinois case. I am an attorney in Illinois, and the QDROs were for two retirement accounts with FedEx corporation. FedEx is notoriously complicated and difficult to deal with, so I hired WFA because I assumed they had dealt with FedEx before. The cost was very high - $500 per QDRO. I learned after the fact that the company does not consider what they do "legal" work and that they do not have legal expertise.
I was not happy with the wording in the QDRO's in two places and after numerous email and one telephone conversations with [redacted] of WFA (she is the principal of the business) I became fed up and decided to just do the modifications I needed myself. Then the real trouble ensued. [redacted] refused to send me electronic versions of the two drafts QDROs for which my client had paid $500 a piece. She failed to answer my emails on two occasions (which she admitted in a phone call to me on 1/21/14), laughed at me derisively during my phone call on that date, admitted that the draft QDROs were not subject to "work product privilege" because she is not a lawyer and time after time refused to answer my question as to why I could not get the electronic versions of the drafts. Finally after I lost my temper with her she said it wasn't her policy. She insisted that I dictate the changes to her (changes I had already written to her about in email and explained to her over the phone several times) and I explained that it would be awkward and time consuming and that if she didn't get it right we would have to go back and forth over and over, and that she clearly didn't understand what I wanted as she had known about my complaints for more than 10 days and still had not made the changes. Clearly, I would have to do it myself if she didn't understand it. She still refused, yelled at me, asked inappropriate questions (one was "Are you going to charge your client for this phone call?" I told her it was none of her business). Exasperated, I finally dictated what I wanted and she said it was too fast. I asked her to get me the changes by the end of the day in pdf form electronically so that I wouldn't have to wait again. She agreed. We will see.
Prior to this, her company had sent me "final" versions that a cover letter indicated was already approved by FedEx, but clearly had not been. I called about that too, and it took several people on the phone to figure out that I was right. I was incredibly gracious about this error, which [redacted] admitted on the phone to me.
In the 21st century. this refusal for no good reason to send me an electronic version of a court order, so that I, a lawyer, could amend it to make good legal sense, is ridiculous. There was no legal basis for this behavior and she never gave a good explanation.
Throughout the phone call she laughed derisively and made personal comments about me.
