In our search for the right advisor to assist us in selecting a retirement annuity product, we found that [redacted] at WG was a breath of fresh air. We spent quite a bit of time speaking with other advisors, who were anxious to tell us what the best product was as opposed to equipping us to make that decision; and seemed equally or more concerned with creating an income flow for their firm. In contrast, [redacted] was low key and accommodating, as well as being knowledgable and informative. It was clear to us at our first meeting that [redacted]' goal was to first make sure he understood our objectives so that he could confirm that an annuity was the right way to go; to patiently educate us regarding various annuity products out there so that we were equipped to evaluate the products on our own; and then give his advice regarding the best product for our needs. We visited an average of six financial planners over 6 years. One mission was to have annuities explained to us. Another, was to determine sound retirement planning.

My significant other has a keen mathematical mind who can repeat back to you math examples of a year ago, so to speak. ONLY Cris W[redacted] explained things coherently to the point of complete understanding, by both of us. The others were clear as mud.
Another bad experience with interviewing other planners...was a large well known firm, and the planners wife interrupted the meeting to complain he was overdrawn...again - on the checking account.
