Whaley's Towing & uHaul

My car was towed by Whaley's on Dec 30. I tried numerous times to get my car and was put off. I began calling Whaley's on Dec 31 trying to get my car off his lot and was told to call back in an hour he was with his sick wife. I called every day at least 4 times a day being told the same thing. I felt for him and told him so and asked if there was anyone else I could speak to as this was the only number listed for him and given to me from the police dept. on Friday, Jan 4th when I called as I had done daily, Whaley's told me his wife was dying but he would see what he could find out, he called me back and told me my car had been picked up. I asked by who, he could not tell me. I called the police and filed a vehicle theft report. On Monday Jan 7th, the police found my car at Whaley's towing, still in their lot. The detective gave me a name to call and speak to about my car and I did so. I explained I had been trying to get my vehicle since the 31st, but they stated Whaley's has it set at 350.00 to pickup. I told them I should not be liable for all those days as they told me the tow was 115.00. I spoke to Whaley's about this on Tues. Jan 8th and he stated ok 250.00 cash and you can have car. He stated very rudely that is cash and spelled it out C A S H. I explained this was not my fault he would not let me pick it up on the 31st and told me he no longer had it. He said, "again, 250.00 and spelled out c a s h. I paid the 250.00 that afternoon and got my car, but this was not good business at all. I had proof of all of my calls and he was aware and confirmed that, but said if it's on his lot, it is money in his pocket period.
