Whaling City Diner Reviews (2)

Hello,I am emailing in response to a letter I received in regards to complaint #[redacted], made by [redacted] against my business, The Whaling City Diner. He states that he purchased 3 seize the deal coupons for $10.00 each and each was supposed to be valued for $20.00 towards a dinner at my...

establishment. These were purchased in December 2015 and were supposed to expire in December 2016, however somehow an expiration date was left off the coupons. We also stopped serving dinner and are now only open for breakfast and lunch. The certificates say they have no cash value and as with any gift card I can not refund this patron any cash value. What I am willing to do and have done for multiple other customers with these same certificates is I will honor them for the amount they purchased the deal for at my establishment towards a breakfast or lunch purchase. This means that he can bring in his certificate and I will honor each of his three for the amount of $10.00 towards his purchase of breakfast or lunch. He can use one coupon per visit. It is unfortunate that this has gotten to this point, we do not like to do business like this and want our patrons to be satisfied. I believe that allowing the customers with this certificate to use them at face value of $10.00 is a far way to solve the issue. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank You,[redacted]Whaling City Diner894 Purchase StreetNew Bedford, MA 02740[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. .
It is not my fault that the coupons had no expiration date,  it is not my fault that the restaurant decided to stop serving dinner, of which these coupon were for, in the amount of $20.00 each, not $10.00 each, and the Restaurant should be made aware that this matter went this far, because she chose it to go this far, and also commented to me, "Let me know how you make out "! Very Sarcastically, and Arrogantly.    At this point the only remedy would be to honot the certificates for the full $20.00 each toward meals, or Pay me back the 3 - $10.00 fees that I paid for the coupons that I purchased in good faith.
Regards,
[redacted]
