Wheel Chair Doctor Reviews (%countItem)

The Wheelchair Doctor sold me what he guaranteed to be a good motorized wheelchair for $600. The chair was infested with bugs. The springs are wore out on the front & back wheels which are what keep the chair from tipping over, as well as the batteries don't hold a charge like they should. I contacted the Wheelchair Doctor to discuss how we could figure this out and he refused to even try to make it right.

This costomer told me he was looking for a chair with good speed and outdoor capabilities. He drove the chair and really like it stating that it even had more speed than his last one. I was asking $600.00 for the chair. He brought three used chairs that he wanted to trade in for this chair. I told him I wasn't interested in the used chairs. After some hesitation I told him that I would try and help him out and took one of the chairs in on trade. He said it just needed to be charged. The batteries were totally gone and would not even take a charge. He gave me 400.00 and trade for the chair. The seating system alone on this chair is worth more than $600.00. I stated that this was a good chair and still stand by that. However no guarantee was given. When he called me about the batteries I tryed to explain to him that this is a bigger chair and has bigger power to run it than the small chairs like he has been using. There was never any mention of spring problems. It appears that he is trying to make this chair sound unsafe wich is not true. He made me promise to deliver the chair to him as part of the deal. We have had a really rainy spring and everone in the area is having trouble with a small flying bug this year. I only have an outside carrier if some bugs were on the chair I am very sorry for that. I try to help poeple who have a legidimate complaint but have herd through the grapevine that the chair is too big for his house.

Contacted the gentleman to come fix my stair climber. He came and took the batteries that had been replaced less than 6 month prior. He returned four weeks later after I had called him twice. He put the batteries back and claimed every thing was working but after he left the chair was not working and has not worked since he left my home. He charged 180.00 for two service calls and I can not use my stair climber to go into the basement.
My daughter called him this morning 9/17/2018 to speak with him all he wanted to do was argue with her.

Showed up on the job site to work on stair lift. Found that parts had already been removed which takes more time you find yourself looking for parts, bolts, ect. and checking for things done incorrectly. Determined that the charging system was not working and the batteries were too low to get it working that day. Also I wanted to see if I could find a new charger this was a used lift when it was installed. I offerd to return a couple times on Saturday which was not agreeable with client. Returned to job site 8-17-18 with charged batteries I could not find a charger. Batteries tested good. Repaired wiring on charging system installed batteries. Made sure that the charging lights on the charger indicated that it was charging at both resting positions. Ran the stair lift up and down four or five times carefully explaining how to read the lights on the charger to make sure that it is charging. Recieved a call on 9-4-18 at 8:55 am stating that lift was not working demanding that lift be fixed or money back. Given the age of the lift and the current availability of parts it is harder to get a perfect fix everytime even though that happened the first two times I repaired it. Furthermore, I made two round trips of 36 mi. ea 72 miles total and five hours of labor. I feel I earned every penny of my charges. Work was done on 8-17-18 and demands were made on 9-4-18. I have this documented on my phone. That would leave me to believe that the lift worked for that period of time. New problems can occur. To complicate all of this my mom passed August 19th. Family, funeral and actully take care of my mom were a priority. Currently I am not released to do any work because of a left ankle problem and right shoulder is worse than my ankle. They say I need a reverse shoulder surgery. I would be happy to fix clients lift when I am released to do so but I will charge for what I do. I would think it to be a minor problem. If client can not wait I could understand. There are other people in the erea that work on stair lifts. I am sorry that things worked out as they did. I would also like to note that on 9-17-18 I did offer to go agaist recomendations and return to job site to work on lift. I am thinking better of that now. I have been in business for over 30 years and have never been requested to respond to any other complaints. I think my reputation speaks for itself. P.S. I don't consider trying to explain the circumstances as I have now done argueing.
