We were sold a horse from this ranch claiming it was child safe, grandma safe, trail safe, perfect lesson horse, write your own Guarantee. We were told he was slow and safe for what we needed; which was for lessons for Young children. - we understand horses need time to adjust; but this horse for over 2 months never got better. We tried everything! He wouldn't stand still, he would back up quickly, spin around and rear to get out of work. Immediately we contacted the ranch to ask for advice in which they told us to use a stronger bit and pop him in the mouth. As most horse people know neither of those things are the answer to an already upset Horse. We were then told that we should understand that sometimes the stuff happens with horses when you buy them and that's the risk you take; and we needed to get over it. When we said desperately after spending $5,500 on this horse that he was not adjusting or fitting our needs after almost 2 months... they told us that since we didn't write a gaurentee before the sale they weren't going to trade him out. The woman then showed videos of him acting up to others who made fun of the way my students were riding, and sent me screen shots of them laughing at them to show that it was 'our fault'. - her 'rider? for sale videos called me and spoke to me for an hour reassuring me that he would talk to her and she would 'make things right? by trading me out a new horse. - it has been another month since that call and she still has nothing for us. We decided to try and sell the horse ourselves at a much lower price. A loss on our end, and the person who took him on trial had him BOLT on a trail ride. This is supposed to be a safe Lesson and trail horse for children! - when I told whispering pines about the incident the other woman had.. she sent me a thumbs up emoji. - later she told me that she 'told her how to fix whatever happened to him'. In which she told the girl trying him to pop him in the face and 'get after him harder.? They don't keep their word.
Product_Or_Service: Horse

Desired Outcome

Refund Since it is apparent we were never going to get a trade. We are hoping to rehome the horse if we can. If not, I want them to come take their horse back and refund me for him. -

Whispering Pines Ranch Response • Feb 25, 2020

Buyer purchased a southern horse who has been in the south all of his life. Ridden by true beginners with the previous owner as well as in my lesson program. The horse was delivered to NY where it'll there was snow every where. The horse had never seen this such environment. I also has made the buyer aware at drop off he has never seen an indoor arena like hers in her life. She sent me some videos that were pretty hard to watch. The horse was uncomfortable, not happy, and pretty frustrated. On a horse like him once his mind set is thrown off it's hard to bring them back. I suggested several changes with her as to getting him adjusted to her farm. Which she didn't do half of them. She was constantly riding the horse everyday thinking that working a horse everyday and riding for over an hour was acceptable which is not. A true horse man will not do that. A broke horse which he is does not need to be ridden everyday. I tried to offer the buyer several times to ship him back and we will sell him for her as our policy that EVERYONE is aware of, that there is no refunds. If the said horse does not work you may resell the horse or trade out. She declined every time. She spoke with one of my riders about the horse who simply agreed that the horse is simply WAY to ranch broke for them. We were going to assist her with a trade. She simply was impatient about a trade. I told her ONCE that I didn't have anything for her yet. She proceeded to post the horse online and sent him on a trial for two weeks with someone to sell. I heard from her once during the trial period asking for my riders number again after that no contact what's so ever so we assumed she sold the horse. The horse was described accordingly and was everything we said he was, several witnesses including the old owner will valch for this. The horse simply just will not adjust to their climate up north which is out of the sellers hands and control. So the buyer should not be blaming me for a horse not adjusting to a climate which is unreal a true horseman would understand this. In conclusion we tried several times to help her sell the horse. Again she refused. We tried a trade out we simply just didn't have anything. She was very impatient, again as a horse owner should understand we have to have a horse and ASSURE it will be the right fit as we only allow one trade out. She did not want to wait. So she sent the horse out on a trial and has not contacted us since. In conclusion the buyer also stated the horse was fine outside away from her indoor with video to prove it and her stating in the video she loved the horse.
It's in best fit that the buyer sells the horse and let's us know who she sold the horse to, per the contact she has to make us aware. The buyer has lied about several things on several occasions, is also putting false information here on your website which someone called her out on. When she has the correct address on the bill of sale.
I think she needs to own up to the fact that the horse is too broke for her needs, he is not going to adjust there, that the horse needs to be sold back home somewhere south where the horse is happiest. The horse never once hurt anyone at
Her facility which I have proof of that. I have my sale video and live videos that she bought him off of, several clients that let their children take lessons on this horse, previous owner, and all my riders to valch for this horse to agree what she bought is what she saw online. That he is simply not a northern horse or an English lesson horse. He is a HANDY finished ranch horse. Let me know if you need any proof of all of the phone numbers
Would also like to add that the horses ad did state write your own gaurentee. Which means you can gaurentee the horse how ever you would like becuase we know what the horse is. if the buyer does write their own gaurentee it has to be written back to the seller so we can add it in the contract. Which the buyer did not present a gaurentee. So therefore the horse was sold with no gaurentee.
