Review: My complaint is against my CPA who does my Income Taxes for my Corporation and my personal accounts for 15 years. When I showed up to sign the electronic filing forms I was confronted by the assistant, [redacted] telling me that I had to pay an increased fee of $995 up front before they would send my returns to the government agencies. Last year my fee was $635 and I did not expect an increase. I was not told about any fee increase when I dropped off my information face to face with [redacted] 5 days prior but now with 20 minutes left to the deadline I was told they aren't going to submit without payment up front. I was very upset when I saw the new fee which was a 57% increase over last years fee. [redacted] told me that over the last few years that they have not been paid by me and when she emailed me to discuss it that I just dismissed her. I got really upset hearing these lies and I told her that I have never not paid their fees and that I don't owe them anything. I felt like I had a gun to my head because there was less than 10 minutes left to file my taxes. So I paid the fee of $995 and also $445.00 for my personal. I was shaking so bad and sick to my stomach when I wrote these checks. I told her that I was insulted by her and I just wanted to get this over with and not come back. She reminded me that I still owed them back fees that I will have to pay (handed me statements totaling $1918.10). I reminded her that I don't owe anything. I took a few days to find all my cancelled checks proving that I didn't owe any of these fees. When [redacted] emailed me last year about having an outstanding balance I checked my records than and told her she is confusing me with someone else because I show the checks I sent her are all cashed by them. The scary part is this is my accountant and they don't know how to keep their own bookkeeping straight. I found that I have over paid them $374 due me nowDesired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed for the additional increase of their fee in the amount of $360.00 and I also want to be refunded the $374.00 that I have over paid. A total of$734.00.I am not sure if I am the only customer that they are treating this way but if there are others I would hope that the Revdex.com would see to it that this company is sited for their actions. I believe this behavior is unethical if not illegal. I felt that I was trapped and robbed. Not to mention the insults that I had to endure

What Ms. [redacted] is asking for to resolve this issue is not clear. She is asking for the fee increase back. Additionally she is asking for an additional amount that she says she overpaid. What is less than clear is how she has overpaid us (other than her claim related to the fee increase). In spite of this request being ridiculous for the reasons discussed above our office will be issuing her a fee refund of the amount requested of $734.
